I loooved my class last night. Andrea gave us sooo many insights into what a career in Real Estate entails. This is EXACTLY what I wanted, something that would NOT cap my income that is challenging enough BUT still something I enjoy. I looove homes and decorating. I know that ISN'T what Real Estate is about BUUUT it is something I looove. I especially love HGTV although I haven't watched much of it lately since I've been without a couch or even my love seat I had Jeff and Rich remove.
I invited my friend at work Katie to hear my talk Sunday. Deb from my Real Estate class agreed to come. I also messaged my friend Adam to visit the ward and listen to my talk. I know Adam might have a problem with attending at all but I want him to feel the spirit. It is the only thing I know is good to share with ALL my nonmember or less active friends BUT as far as his sexual orientation is concerned I don't have any satisfying answers to give him. Reading all my friends' experiences after the recent passage of gay marriage in Hawaii was heartbreaking. I know how incredible the family is however and it is not hard for me to see why God's plan includes both a husband and wife, a father and a mother. I know it is way too easy for me to accept this however. I've never felt anything for any female ever. Especially poignant is one of my RM friends who shared how hard he tried by attending the temple more frequently and offering repeated petitions in the celestial room.
I can't begin to understand their trial and I am grateful I don't have it. What I do know for sure is the church is true. I know Heavenly Father will take care of everything, especially this and my friends will be judged fairly. I don't feel like we've been given all the answers regarding this BUT I know when the Lord and we are ready to learn his will and why these people are given these trials that we will be given this. I am so grateful that I am able to work in the temple so the sacredness and beauty of these ordinances can be experienced again and again. That feeling cannot be found anywhere else. I love it.
Mosiah 8
16 And Ammon said that a seer is a revelator and a prophet also; and a gift which is greater can no man have, except he should possess the power of God, which no man can; yet a man may have great power given him from God.
17 But a seer can know of things which are past, and also of things which are to come, and by them shall all things be revealed, or, rather, shall secret things be made manifest, and hidden things shall come to light, and things which are not known shall be made known by them, and also things shall be made known by them which otherwise could not be known.
18 Thus God has provided a means that man, through faith, might work mighty miracles; therefore he becometh a great benefit to his fellow beings.
20 O how marvelous are the works of the Lord, and how long doth he suffer with his people; yea, and how a and impenetrable are the understandings of the children of men; for they will not seek wisdom, neither do they desire that b should rule over them!
21 Yea, they are as a wild flock which fleeth from the shepherd, and scattereth, and are driven, and are devoured by the beasts of the forest.

To Those Who Leave
In this Church that honors personal agency so strongly, that was restored by a young man who asked questions and sought answers, we respect those who honestly search for truth. It may break our hearts when their journey takes them away from the Church we love and the truth we have found, but we honor their right to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of their own conscience, just as we claim that privilege for ourselves.5
Unanswered Questions
Some struggle with unanswered questions about things that have been done or said in the past. We openly acknowledge that in nearly 200 years of Church history—along with an uninterrupted line of inspired, honorable, and divine events—there have been some things said and done that could cause people to question.
Sometimes questions arise because we simply don’t have all the information and we just need a bit more patience. When the entire truth is eventually known, things that didn’t make sense to us before will be resolved to our satisfaction.
Sometimes there is a difference of opinion as to what the “facts” really mean. A question that creates doubt in some can, after careful investigation, build faith in others.
Mistakes of Imperfect People
And, to be perfectly frank, there have been times when members or leaders in the Church have simply made mistakes. There may have been things said or done that were not in harmony with our values, principles, or doctrine.
I suppose the Church would be perfect only if it were run by perfect beings. God is perfect, and His doctrine is pure. But He works through us—His imperfect children—and imperfect people make mistakes.
In the title page of the
Book of Mormon we read, “And now, if there are faults they are the mistakes of men; wherefore, condemn not the things of God, that ye may be found spotless at the judgment-seat of Christ.”

This is the way it has always been and will be until the perfect day when Christ Himself reigns personally upon the earth.
It is unfortunate that some have stumbled because of mistakes made by men. But in spite of this, the eternal truth of the restored gospel found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not tarnished, diminished, or destroyed.
As an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ and as one who has seen firsthand the councils and workings of this Church, I bear solemn witness that no decision of significance affecting this Church or its members is ever made without earnestly seeking the inspiration, guidance, and approbation of our Eternal Father. This is the Church of Jesus Christ. God will not allow His Church to drift from its appointed course or fail to fulfill its divine destiny.
If you expect to find perfect people here, you will be disappointed. But if you seek the pure doctrine of Christ, the word of God “which healeth the wounded soul,”
9 and the sanctifying influence of the Holy Ghost, then here you will find them. In this age of waning faith—in this age when so many feel distanced from heaven’s embrace—here you will find a people who yearn to know and draw closer to their Savior by serving God and fellowmen, just like you. Come, join with us!
I reminded Katie about attending church and listening to my talk. I need to be prepared, organized and most importantly filled with the spirit. That is what I want everyone I'm inviting to feel. I want them to know my Savior at least a little better as they know me just a little better 2.I'm grateful for this opportunity. Deb works with Jonni and I told her she could sit with Jonni. Jonni told her she doesn't tell anyone when she speaks. It is a habit for me to constantly look for opportunities to help others feel the spirit. I never really thought about that until Deb told me what Jonni said. I do welcome opportunities to speak and share my testimony of what is the most important to me. It is my constant hope and prayer that I can be used as an instrument to bring others to the Savior and if I can do that through speaking and inviting them to hear me speak I will.
