Alma 36-37

37
And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very small means the Lord dothconfound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls.
Yea, I say unto you, were it not for these things that these records do contain, which are on these plates, Ammon and his brethren could not have convinced so many thousands of the Lamanites of the incorrect tradition of their fathers; yea, these records and their words brought them unto repentance; that is, they brought them to the knowledge of the Lord their God, and to rejoice in Jesus Christ their Redeemer.
The power of the scriptures. They brought the people to repentance and to a knowledge an joy in God and the Savior.
41 Nevertheless, because those miracles were worked by smallmeans it did show unto them marvelous works. They wereslothful, and forgot to exercise their faith and diligence and then those marvelous works ceased, and they did not progress in their journey;
I feel like I'm not progressing in my journey. I am going to prepare myself to have the best job interview. I have to make use of this time wisely. Annoying. I prayed about applying for Jet Blue reservations but I don't feel good about it. I don't think it should matter where I work. Eight something an hour however isn't something I really want to do. Hotaia used to work there and Tiare works there now.

Make the Exercise of Faith Your First Priority - Richard G. Scott
The first tool is prayer. Choose to converse with your Father in Heaven often. Make time every day to share your thoughts and feelings with Him. Tell Him everything that concerns you.
To know what the voice of the Divine sounds and feels like, read His words, study the scriptures, and ponder them.5 Make them an integral part of everyday life. If you want your children to recognize, understand, and act on the promptings of the Spirit, you must study the scriptures with them.
Feasting on the word of God each day is more important than sleep, school, work, television shows, video games, or social media. You may need to reorganize your priorities to provide time for the study of the word of God. If so, do it!
I add my voice with this promise: as you dedicate time every day, personally and with your family, to the study of God’s word, peace will prevail in your life. That peace won’t come from the outside world. It will come from within your home, from within your family, from within your own heart. It will be a gift of the Spirit. It will radiate out from you to influence others in the world around you. You will be doing something very significant to add to the cumulative peace in the world.
Be cautious not to make your family home evening just an afterthought of a busy day. Decide that on Monday night your family will be together at home for the evening. Do not let employment demands, sports, extracurricular activities, homework, or anything else become more important than that time you spend together at home with your family.
Schedule a regular time to be in the temple. Don’t let anyone or anything prevent you from being there.
Remember that many more blessings come from providing your own family names in the temple.
When we are consistently praying morning and night, studying our scriptures daily, having weekly family home evening, and attending the temple regularly, we are actively responding to His invitation to “come unto Him.” The more we develop these habits, the more anxious is Satan to harm us but the less is his ability to do so. Through the use of these tools, we exercise our agency to accept the full gifts of His atoning sacrifice.
