My Random Blogging Therapy
I went to the chapel and it was definitely NOT there. I went home, looked at the program and it was at the stake center. Sooo I debated for awhile if I should attend or not in my head before finally going there where the lasagna was burnt AND cold but there were lots of nice stuff on tables and then services were also offered. I donated shopping expertise and my friend from Logan Julie Johns bought it for $30. I guess that's good because she's actually already talked to me about shopping with her. This just makes it official. Ever since Joni asked me to help her pick out dresses AND she told everyone at my last ward that I did, Julie's mentioned it more than once, how I should go with her and pick out some stuff with her.
Benson was there and he was talking to Charity a bunch. He also was carving a pumpkin with her and some other girl at my table when I met him. She is my dinner group host Sunday AND she is amazing so I didn't want to step on her toes so I steered clear of him. He is the brain surgeon who is super nice, has dark hair and is tall with a house in the Avenues.
Ward members bid sometimes up to $300 and $200 was about average. $300 usually meant they won the item for sure. I remember our auction we did to raise money for the missionary fund in our stake. It was similar but I'd say the highest anyone was willing to pay tapped out at $50.00 and that was the limit to almost assure they got the item.
They also sold baked goods. I bought a brownie that was crumbly and not tasty. I didn't finish it.
Mosiah 7
33 But if ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage.
Stay in the Boat and Hold On - M. Russell Ballard
In searching the scriptures and the words of past and current apostles and prophets, we should focus on studying, living, and loving the doctrine of Christ.
In addition to developing the habit of personal scripture reading, we need to be like the sons of Mosiah and give ourselves “to much prayer, and fasting.”
It seems that these things which are not easily measured are of great importance. Stay focused on these simple things, and avoid becoming distracted.
Those so distracted often give up partaking of the sacrament because they have become focused, even preoccupied, with less important practices or teachings.
The important questions focus on what matters most—Heavenly Father’s plan and the Savior’s Atonement. Our search should lead us to become kind, gentle, loving, forgiving, patient, and dedicated disciples. We must be willing, as Paul taught, to “bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
