I was pleasantly surprised. I found 2 sweaters I like AND that is rare for me. They had lots of Calvin Klein. I looove his stuff because it has clean lines and usually something unusual in a good way. The quality is top notch. AFTER 3 weeks this time for my last tray I'll get these attachments taken off. I am VEEERY happy about that. There were the usual makeup counters and other good designers including Laura Ashley. There is a store at Trolley Square Mall. I have owned several of her dresses.
Before my mission I found a couple of dresses there I loved. My dad was so happy they were modest he was more than happy to buy them for me. The quality is always excellent and the materials they use are always unusual. I am really going to work on my fitness. I am going to lose weight asap and fit all my amazing clothes again. PLUS add some more. They have amazing sweaters there too. I am going to lose weight get fit and THEN I'm going to get certified as a Zumba instructor and work with EMZ.
Mosiah 4
30 But this much I can tell you, that if ye do not watch yourselves, and your thoughts, and your words, and your deeds, and observe the commandments of God, and continue in the faith of what ye have heard concerning the coming of our Lord, even unto the end of your lives, ye must perish. And now, O man, remember, and perish not.
The Book - Allan F. Packer
The lesson: I became distracted with other things.
These four focuses and all other laws, commandments, and ordinances are required and not optional. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and by doing each of these, we are adding required stamps to our spiritual passports.
The family is the center of the plan of salvation and perhaps why it is also called the “great plan of happiness.”10 President Boyd K. Packer has said, “The ultimate end of all activity in the Church is that a man and his wife and their children can be happy at home.”11
Temple and family history work is part of living the gospel at home. It should be a family activity far more than a Church activity.
There has been a renewed emphasis on family history and temple work from the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve.13 Your response to this emphasis will increase your individual and family joy and happiness.
Family history is more than genealogy, rules, names, dates, and places. It is more than a focus on the past. Family history also includes the present as we create our own history. It includes the future as we shape future history through our descendants. A young mother, for example, sharing her family stories and pictures with her children is doing family history work.
However, there is one obstacle the Church cannot remove. It is an individual’s hesitation to do the work. All it requires is a decision and a little effort. It does not require a large block of time. Just a little time on a consistent basis will yield the joy of the work. Make the decision to take a step, to learn and ask others to help you. They will! The names you find and take to the temple will become the records for “the book.
Even with the dramatic increase in member participation, we find that relatively few members of the Church are regularly involved in finding and doing temple ordinances for their family.18 This calls for a change in our priorities. Don’t fight the change, embrace it! Change is part of the great plan of happiness.
Brothers and sisters, it’s time to take the cover off our hatchets and go to work. We must not sacrifice our exaltation or that of our families for less important interests.
I committed to do family history work once a week with my mother. Last week we scanned documents to attach to one of our Chinese records that had someone listed as his wife who wasn't. My mother had his death record that included his birthdate and negated that dubious claim. He never returned to China to marry someone else. It would contradict our records.
Tonight I'm attending Angela Allred's institute class in Sugarhouse. She is from my home ward in Hawaii. My friend from Logan who is also living here now recommended her. I just Facebooked her and asked all the important questions. I am glad there are so many Mid-Singles activities here in Salt Lake City to choose from. It is important that I make the effort.
Friday we're having a sub-for-Santa auction. I donated image-consulting/shopping/home decor expertise. I had to write something up since someone else is offering the same service. My first major ever when I was a freshman at BYU was fashion merchandising. I have an interview tomorrow at Sears for a visual associate. I like it because the hours seem flexible and I love all that stuff. I'd love to do styling part time. I have a lot of interests that are all over the place.
Alma 17-29 for Angela's class tonight
17:8 And thus they departed into the wilderness with their numbers which they had selected, to go up to the land of Nephi, to preach the word of God unto the Lamanites.
So how many exactly went along with the Sons of Mosiah? They depart into the wildernss with their numbers.
18:16 And it came to pass that Ammon, being filled with the Spirit of God, therefore he perceived the thoughts of the king. And he said unto him: Is it because thou hast heard that I defended thy servants and thy flocks, and slew seven of their brethren with the sling and with the sword, and smote off the arms of others, in order to defend thy flocks and thy servants; behold, is it this that causeth thy marvelings?
18:22 Now Ammon being wise, yet harmless, he said unto Lamoni: Wilt thou hearken unto my words, if I tell thee by what power I do these things? And this is the thing that I desire of thee.
18:35 And a portion of that Spirit dwelleth in me, which giveth meknowledge, and also power according to my faith and desires which are in God.
nevertheless they were patient in all their sufferings.
