Busy New Years Eve

We had our last EMZ session of the year yesterday morning at 5:30 when I got home I jumped in the shower and got ready to leave. At the end of that I hit up the SouthEastAsia Market on 9th South since they have frozen dim sum for 5 something each. They can be steamed and are delicious. I bought 4 trays to take to Alisa and George's house.

When we got there I started steaming stuff. It was around 10:30. Alisa had left somewhere with Nata. They were actually getting her last minute things she wanted. Packing was done right up until the last second when we all went to see Nata off at the MTC. She had friends who wanted to see her waiting in the parking lot. We took up 3 parking spaces and George wanted to leave so other people would be able to park and say bye to their missionaries. He asked if anyone wanted to go with him and NO ONE did because everyone wanted to say bye to their sister so instead of leaving he parked his car along the street and came back to take pictures in the parking lot.

After taking pictures with Nata I wanted to leave too. Mom and I went to McDonalds so we'd go to George's house AFTER George and Alisa and the rest of the family. We ate the Chinese food my mother and I made. My dim sum went over really well with the kids. I'm glad. I didn't like the way the sequined tank top OR my skirt and top fit so I didn't wear them to the dance.

I was exhausted and it would've been so easy to not attend the dance but I wanted to go even if I was tired so I did with my flat boots. I had fun with Lulu last night but also with a bunch of different people. Shem my friend looked great because he was clean shaven and he was also wearing a tux. He told Lulu he was born in Hawaii and served his mission in Hawaii. Plus he was an English major like me at BYU-Hawaii - also like me. I hate that the beard trend keeps hanging on. It just needs to die and NOW. Men are sooo unattractive to me with facial hair.

The guy Lulu was dating came. She draws him out completely. He is a mousy man but somehow Lulu learned of and discovered his value. He was her home teacher so he got to know her in a way that most people don't. I know she had fun mainly because he was there and she left it bad almost 2 years ago. She had a good long talk with him earlier and she saw him again last night. They will probably do something together too soon. She looks very happy with him and that is what makes the difference. I hope they get married.

Shem dances well. He is very talented and brilliant. Maybe he's not the jaded liberal I thought he was. There really is so much I don't know about him. He looked like a jaded hipster when I first met him. I love that he sings really well and can play the guitar. I hate his apartment and that he lives with a bunch of room mates. He cooks really well too. That's very nice. I'm glad he's my friend. I still can't tell his spiritual state but he looked great last night.

I saw several people from Logan too. It was nice. First I saw Aaron then Norma Jean and Tiffany. There were also a bunch from my ward. I saw and danced with Steve. He dressed well. I saw Jared there too - some guy in the ward with long hair and I also saw Benson the surgeon guy who does a lot of things with this girl Charity in my ward.

Nice reminder that reading can fill us with the spirit.
