The week begins again! In my search for coupons I could've had an amazing deal with Mr. Ramsey who used to deliver them starting at 2 in the morning from here to Hyrum. He is going to talk to a couple friends to see if we can set up something. One of our students is over Breast Cancer Awareness month. She is doing a fantastic job. She contacted businesses in the area for donations for our silent auction. There is an oil change I want. She said people are also donating a couple granite cutting boards. That'll be nice although that could be strange on my granite counters.
Yesterday I was late to church. I asked the guy sitting right by the door if I could sit by him since he had a space there. He said no. I can't believe he said that. Asking him was just a courtesy. I would have just sat down. He didn't have anyone join him and it just made him look like a jerk. Instead I saw my home teacher Rich with a space near him so I went and sat by him.
I told him what happened and he told me I could sit with him anytime. I think he's dating this girl Pandi now who is in my RS. She was sitting on the other side of him. She became VERY touchy/feely when I sat down by Rich. I think I intimidated her. RELAX chicky I'm NOT the competition!!! I didn't feel anything which was AWESOME. Rich is fine, brilliant and hilarious. Unfortunately he is also divorced, has 4 kids AND an ex-wife. AND there's also the Mendon-loving thing. I don't get it. I set him up with my visiting teacher Elizabeth who is a beautiful, brilliant AND spiritual leggy blonde. I don't know Pandi very well but she isn't pretty and she looks old. She has to be nice and witty OR something because I don't see it. Elizabeth is amazing.
2 Nephi 6
13 Wherefore, they that fight against Zion and the covenant people of the Lord shall lick up the dust of their feet; and the people of the Lord shall not be a. For the people of the Lord are they who b for him; for they still wait for the coming of the Messiah.
14 And behold, according to the words of the prophet, the Messiah will set himself again the
a time to recover them; wherefore, he will
b himself unto them in power and great glory, unto the
c of their enemies, when that day cometh when they shall believe in him; and none will he destroy that believe in him.
I can't wait until I have all the initiatory words down. They are beautiful AND powerful and it will be such a treat to say them to people over and over again. I need to find time to do that.
The Moral Force of Women - D. Todd Christofferson
A woman’s moral influence is nowhere more powerfully felt or more beneficially employed than in the home. There is no better setting for rearing the rising generation than the traditional family, where a father and a mother work in harmony to provide for, teach, and nurture their children. Where this ideal does not exist, people strive to duplicate its benefits as best they can in their particular circumstances.
In all events, a mother can exert an influence unequaled by any other person in any other relationship. By the power of her example and teaching, her sons learn to respect womanhood and to incorporate discipline and high moral standards in their own lives. Her daughters learn to cultivate their own virtue and to stand up for what is right, again and again, however unpopular. A mother’s love and high expectations lead her children to act responsibly without excuses, to be serious about education and personal development, and to make ongoing contributions to the well-being of all around them. Elder Neal A. Maxwell once asked: “When the real history of mankind is fully disclosed, will it feature the echoes of gunfire or the shaping sound of lullabies? The great armistices made by military men or the peacemaking of women in homes and in neighborhoods? Will what happened in cradles and kitchens prove to be more controlling than what happened in congresses?”
