I don't need to drive up that hill near USU to pick him up because he got another ride to church today. SWEET!!! Heavenly father is blessing me!!!

I love that my lesson is on the scriptures today.

The Savior used parables to illustrate his point. Most talks I enjoy have stories to illustrate their point. Every religion I can think of uses a religious text of some sort. Reading directs our thoughts. All my life I've been told to read my scriptures every day. This is not an accident. It makes perfect sense. ANYTHING you read guides your thoughts and your thoughts guide your behavior.

NONE of the girl ward missionaries who usually attend class came today. THAT did not make me feel good although I am glad my engaged friend Krista came with Anthony and all the guys except Rich who I didn't see at church at all. Our new ward missionary is David. He is very nice. I saw Andrew at church with a little girl walking down one of our halls when I was teaching but then I didn't see him at our linger longer. Anthony's mother and step-dad came to church with Krista and Anthony. Her ring is beautiful. Anthony said he cried when he asked Krista to marry him.

I actually feel great about their impending nuptials and I don't feel like she is marrying below herself. He said he had help from Heavenly Father to choose the ring. It is beautiful.

Julie asked me how managing the bookstore was AGAIN. I told her I'm a librarian and we had a Bookfair when I asked The Book Table to come. SERIOUSLY. I didn't feel like she was mean-spirited however which was nice.

There was a sweet girl Erica who came to church. She was in my gospel principles class. She told me she's attended class before but she likes the way I teach best. I talked about how I felt the love of God for the first time on my mission and then related to the class how Lehi's dream and the fruit was delicious and better than anything ever experienced. This was awesome because she just had a similar experience with the exact same scripture. It was awesome.

I must annoy the other ward missionary ladies. I'm not trying to do that BUT I'm not going to change and be something they are comfortable with just to make them comfortable. Krista said she's getting married in the temple in May.

Now I think they're both great for each other. They are what the other needs. I'm not sure what happened with Dave. Porter said Trish was giving him a ride but I didn't see either of them there. John went out of his way to ask me where Dave Harris was.

Mormon 5
14 And behold, they shall go unto the unbelieving of the Jews; and for this intent shall they go—that they may be persuaded that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God; that the Father may bring about, through his most Beloved, his great and eternal purpose, in restoring the Jews, or all the house of Israel, to theland of their inheritance, which the Lord their God hath given them, unto the fulfilling of his covenant;

16 For behold, the Spirit of the Lord hath already ceased tostrive with their fathers; and they are without Christ and God in the world; and they are driven about as chaff before the wind.
17 They were once a delightsome people, and they had Christ for their shepherd; yea, they were led even by God the Father.
18 But now, behold, they are led about by Satan, even as chaff is driven before the wind, or as a vessel is tossed about upon the waves, without sail or anchor, or without anything wherewith to steer her; and even as she is, so are they.
President Boyd K. Packer - The Key to Spiritual Protection
I used an example Pres. Packer shared in this talk in my lesson today about the scriptures.
Years ago, Elder S. Dilworth Young of the Seventy taught me a lesson about reading the scriptures. A stake was struggling with tensions and difficulties among the members, and counsel needed to be given.
I asked President Young, “What should I say?”
He answered simply, “Tell them to read the scriptures.”
I asked, “Which scriptures?”
He said, “It really doesn’t matter. Tell them to open up the Book of Mormon, for instance, and begin to read. Soon the feeling of peace and inspiration will come, and a solution will present itself.”
Make scripture reading a part of your regular routine, and the blessings will follow. There is in the scriptures a voice of warning, but there is also great nourishment.

I'm not sure how I offended Trish, Lori or Lucy. I can only hope if Esther and Lori Loesch were there they would've attended my lesson too. Next week is stake conference. I wonder if our ward is FINALLY splitting. Our choir is singing. I didn't sing in sacrament meeting because I missed the last 2 practices. Last week because I was sick and then the other one was Superbowl Sunday.
