The Gospel provides the motivation others have to seek

This is my first day of Yoli and it is EXTREMELY easy so far. Having the shakes take care of 2 of my meals is fabulous!!! Taking all the alkalete I need to take is NOT fun but it's only a minute. I am REALLY hoping it makes the difference. Kinau gave me his number and messaged me to call him after noon. It was great to talk to him. He is REALLY from Hawaii. Rich always catches me off guard with his Hawaiian accent, Kinau's accent is VERY obvious. He is super-successful and flies regularly to Hawaii, California and New York. It is amazing.

While I love the money, I HAAATE MLM's bigtime. I told him if this product works I'll continue to use it long-term. He told me he's been using it over a year and according to the website pictures he's lost 80 pounds. He does look fantastic. I'm excited BUUUT I am going to wait for my own results first. This is a protein day. I'm not hungry and I know all the tricks even if I am, drink a glass of water, wait 10 minutes first. I love that I'll end the day with a chocolate protein shake at 7pm then take my alkalete and pure at bedtime which I'm going to make 10pm.

 36 And I know that ye do awalk in the pride of your hearts; and there are none save a few only who do not blift themselves up in the pride of their hearts, unto the wearing of cvery fine apparel, unto envying, and strifes, and malice, and persecutions, and all manner of iniquities; and your churches, yea, even every one, have become polluted because of the pride of your hearts.
37 For behold, ye do love amoney, and your substance, and your fine apparel, and the adorning of your churches, more than ye love the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted.
 38 O ye pollutions, ye hypocrites, ye teachers, who sell yourselves for that which will canker, why have ye polluted the holy church of God? Why are ye aashamed to take upon you the name of Christ? Why do ye not think that greater is the value of an endless happiness than that bmisery which never dies—because of thecpraise of the world?
 39 Why do ye adorn yourselves with that which hath no life, and yet suffer the hungry, and the needy, and the naked, and the sick and the afflicted to pass by you, and notice them not?
This morning Katie invited me to watch a motivational video about possibilities and about how they are unlimited. Examples were then given. She and some of the students were choked up. I appreciated her invitation BUUUT what really struck me is how fortunate I am to have the gospel in my life. What was so significant to them can be heard in any of our meetinghouses in a particularly good lesson or talk. I have never doubted my ability to do well or ANYTHING I want. The hardest thing is determining what it is you want. After that everything is gravy and fun. It is a lot of fun trying to figure out how to make the life you want a reality. I have never doubted my ability. Of course I'm not stupid enough to think for a second that all things are equal because they aren't. Some people have the circumstances that are more conducive to success. Anyone who doesn't get that is fooling his/herself. 
George W. Bush was recognized as was Bill Gates who dropped out of Harvard. PLEASE!!! To be a son of a president who of course attends Yale and then becomes president himself. Gates dropped out of Harvard. How many people even get to attend Harvard let alone drop out. Locally I was thinking of Huntsman who ran for president and was elected governor of Utah before he stopped that to accept President Obama's appointment as U.S. Ambassador to Taiwan. Huntsman dropped out of high school to play in a band. After that phase he was still able to get his act together and attend law school. 
Jon Huntsman, his father is the son or grandson of the original owner of First Security Bank which had branches throughout Utah along with Arizona, Idaho and I think somewhere else. When I trained bill collectors we used to look up their account balances. They were sooo NOT hurting financially. So Huntsman has that in his legacy. Add having apostle David Haight as your grandfather too. Nepotism at its finest. I'm sure he was qualified. I heard him speak before he was elected and he stood out as the most capable. I voted for him. BUUUT why was he the most capable? Who else had the type of opportunities he did? How many people can drop out of high school to travel with your band and then return and be seemingly unscathed? His mission was to Taiwan. OF COURSE he'd later grow up to be the U.S. Ambassador there. Of course he was prepared well. He was well-traveled I'm certain and used to interacting with dignitaries all the time. He grew up in that environment. 
I'm not trying to suggest that anyone else couldn't rise to the same position BUUUT to suggest that he does not have significant advantages is ridiculous. Even Obama attended the most expensive and elite school in Hawaii. It cost more for my room mate Elise to attend Punahou than it did for her to attend BYU. Michelle Obama attended a similar school in the South AND of course they were both Harvard-educated attorneys. The first black president lived a charmed life. Every time he suggests he didn't I want to gag.
WHATEVER. The gospel is such a blessing in my life. It gives me so much direction even without seeking it. I need the spirit for specific promptings but I've been counseled to attain as much education as possible, to marry in the temple, so much advice that has only given me more opportunities and options. Another video Katie played talked about what I was thinking about yesterday, how it is important for us to change and improve all the time. A couple of the class members were crying it was so profound to them. REALLY???!!! That is joy and of course I want joy in my life. What is so obvious to me BECAUSE of the church is not to the rest of the world.
