Dave @ school

I don't think Dave was entirely honest about being at USU since he is now enrolling in Stevens-Henager College's GED program. It was good and trippy to see him here at work. I went home and changed to a new pair of contacts and brought my glasses with me in case I need them later. I also took some cash out so I'll have some when I get my nails done at lunch time. I also took out another $20 so I can buy some eyeliner. I'm going to take my last BS reading of the day.

140-10:45, why was it so high this morning???!!! I wonder if Walmart at least has the lancets to tide me over until these new ones get here. When I went home I picked up some spinach/cheese/deli ham. I need to eat some of that asap. It's break now for the students so I'd like to remain here in the library so it'll take me at least 1/2 an hour.

Ether 9
The kingdom passes from one to another by descent, intrigue, and murder

And it came to pass that Jared was anointed king over the people, by the hand of wickedness; and he gave unto Akish his daughter to wife.
And it came to pass that Akish asought the life of his father-in-law; and he applied unto those whom he had sworn by the boath of the ancients, and they obtained the head of his father-in-law, as he sat upon his throne, giving audience to his people.
For so great had been the spreading of this wicked and secret society that it had corrupted the hearts of all the people; therefore Jared was murdered upon his throne, and Akish reigned in his stead.
And it came to pass that Akish began to be ajealous of his son, therefore he shut him up in prison, and kept him upon little or no food until he had suffered death.
And now the brother of him that suffered death, (and his name was Nimrah) was angry with his father because of that which his father had done unto his brother.
And it came to pass that Nimrah gathered together a small number of men, and fled out of the land, and came over and dwelt with Omer.
Every time I read these chapters in Ether I think of how power corrupts and of how sad it would be to live during that time. Jared's daughter marries someone so he'll kill her grandfather thus giving her father power. It is not hard to see that he then wants to kill Jared and take his power away from him. He already married Jared's daughter so he has no reason to preserve his father-in-law's life and anyway he helped him gain power in the first place. Of course Jared would be killed, of course Akish would be jealous of his son and starve him to death and of course his brother would leave.
Family is completely lost on these people.
The Strength to Endure - Richard J. Maynes
The Savior’s atoning sacrifice makes possible our future salvation and exaltation through the principle of repentance. If we honestly and sincerely repent, the Atonement can help us become clean, change our nature, and successfully endure our challenges.
To play basketball successfully, you need to get into good shape. Being in good physical condition comes at a price, and that price is dedication, perseverance, and self-discipline. Spiritual endurance also comes at a price. It is the same price: dedication, perseverance, and self-discipline.
Similarly, we won’t be able to get our testimonies in shape by simply watching general conference on television. We need to study and learn the fundamental principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and then we must do our very best to live them. That is how we become disciples of Jesus Christ, and that is how we build an enduring testimony.
I weighed myself on Katie's scale AND once again I HAVEN'T LOST ANY WEIGHT!!! This is why I need to do Yoli and I need to lower my blood sugar. Unless it is normal it seems I'm NEVER going to lose weight and I have no choice, I need to lose weight to control this disease. Katie told me I lost weight too. Maybe the weight is just getting redistributed.
