Monday!!!

I signed up to take a dozen baked cookies to FHE today. We're having some sort of game show activity. My house is a mess. Instead of cleaning after church yesterday I just wasted time surfing and posting pictures to my Facebook page. I need to do laundry and a bunch of stuff. If I just mix the cookies during my lunch hour and then bake them right before FHE it should be fine. I think I have enough stuff to make oatmeal raisin cookies. I made chocolate chip cookies when I first moved to Logan. I got sick. They were delicious. I don't know if I just can't handle it now or what. I didn't like that at all.

I don't have much flour left but I should be alright. I'll check for sure at lunchtime and maybe get some more flour. All this traveling in May is not good for my bank account ALTHOUGH I was really good this past weekend. Salt Lake City doesn't take nearly as much gas. Provo seemed so close to Salt Lake City. I still HATE driving!!! I need to go to sleep EARLY AND do Zumba in the morning so the next time I go with Alisa I make it through her entire class without dying. I REALLY need to cut my hair. My bangs have absolutely NO SHAPE. I don't like that at all.

My last appliance orthodontist appointment is Wednesday. He thought I'd be done 3 weeks ago BUT no such luck since he removed the bonding my teeth had to move even more. This however should be the last retainer I'll have to wear for 3 weeks then all I'll have to do is wear it at night. I'll FINALLY get to see my dentist again. That should take just one appointment then I should have enough money left over to see my dermatologist and get a new pair of glasses.

2 Nephi 24
19 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and the remnant of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcass trodden under feet.

I think carcass is a great word that should be used as often as possible. The imagery of Isaiah's word choice is always vivid. It gives the words a richness not found anywhere else. I love it because it requries me to ponder and consider the multiple meanings of what he writes.

Obedience Brings Blessings - Thomas S. Monson
“Truth is knowledge of things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come. …

“The Spirit of truth is of God. …
“And no man receiveth a fulness unless he keepeth his commandments.
“He that keepeth [God’s] commandments receiveth truth and light, until he is glorified in truth and knoweth all things.”2
What a glorious promise! “He that keepeth [God’s] commandments receiveth truth and light, until he is glorified in truth and knoweth all things.”

This talk was hilarious when it was given. President Monson relates what he did as a young boy and he rolls his eyes as he tells us of his bad choice and reasoning when he starts an uncontrollable fire with matches he is not allowed to use.
