Temple Lessons Abound

Our Sunday school AND RS lessons were on the temple and its importance. We visited Laura this morning. She is trying to sell her Blackhawk condo now. I would NEVER buy those condos. They have ABSOLUTELY NOOO personality whatsoever. I like the condos right by the Riverwalk. Maybe I'll buy one before I leave Logan. Real Estate is ALWAYS a good investment to me and I love how the condos are right by the Riverwalk. I like the location out here. It's still close enough to everything in Logan AND is right by a golf course too.  I like the South side of Logan. I like the Walmart out here and Smith's isn't too far away either. The best sales are at Smith's although in general Walmart has pretty good prices.

Although when I first looked for apartments I wanted to live in North Logan, I really like my location now but I wouldn't want to own one of these condos. My townhouse has no personality either. I don't like being this close to the park because it can get noisy. The complexes in the North are all built together in the same area AND it just feels scuzzy. Any apartments I've visited in the area I haven't liked. I enjoy downtown Salt Lake City. Logan in the North and downtown feel yucky to me.

3 Nephi 1

11 And it came to pass that he went out and bowed himself down upon the earth, and cried mightily to his God in behalf of his people, yea, those who were about to be destroyed because of their faith in the tradition of their fathers.
12 And it came to pass that he cried mightily unto the Lord aallthat day; and behold, the bvoice of the Lord came unto him, saying:
13 Lift up your head and be of good cheer; for behold, the time is at hand, and on this night shall the asign be given, and on thebmorrow come I into the world, to show unto the world that I will fulfil all that which I have caused to be cspoken by the mouth of my holy prophets.
20 And it had come to pass, yea, all things, every whit, according to the words of the prophets.
I love how Nephi cries mightily OR prays powerfully. That is one principle that will always work. PRAYER is so powerful but so simple. Heavenly Father is happy to give us much more revelation than I had supposed. Tradition in this case is a good thing but sometimes tradition is not a good thing. I like how this ancient prophet cries the entire day. He is a prophet who is certainly worthy to receive an answer after say a few hours of prayer. The fact that Nephi does this ALL day however to me is significant. He is blessed BECAUSE of his faith and his love. What better way is there to exhibit faith, . love and testimony that ALL things are according to his will and pleasure. He doesn't need to give us anything. It is by his grace and love for us that we are given much more than we deserve.

When You Save a Girl, You Save Generations - Mary N. Cook
I knew I could make it a springboard for growth or allow it to be a roadblock.
I think it’s easy to become stagnant and not really want to move forward, but if you put the Lord first, the adversities can lead to beautiful blessings. You can see His hand and witness miracles.” Kate experienced the reality of President Thomas S. Monson’s words: “Our most significant opportunities will be found in times of greatest difficulty.”6
She had faith that her mother would be blessed, but from her experience with her father, she knew that if her mother were to pass away, it would be all right. She said: “I didn’t just survive my dad’s death; it became part of my identity for good, and had my mom been taken away, it would have done the same thing. It would have woven a greater testimony into my life.”7
Since the young women general meeting talks are with the conference talks on the church website I decided to read/listen to those first before I begin reading conference talks again. This is a beautiful talk about how we need to be when we face the inevitable challenges of just daily life. Our challenges can be stepping-stones or stumbling blocks. It is all up to us. We choose how we respond.
