It's so nice to be able to sleep in and wake up naturally. I need to get back to sleeping at 10pm. I was relaxing after work last night meaning I took off my boots, jacket and earrings then I remembered my home teachers were coming over so I quickly put those things on again. If I had changed already I wouldn't have bothered but my shirt was sheer meaning see-through UNLESS my jacket was ON.

Last night Josh was talking about Fu who he golfs with a lot. Jeff knew him too from racket ball. He really does knowEVERYONE!!! VERY good for sales. I think he has had a huge positive impact on sales. I like that especially because he is Polynesian and even more because he is Tongan.

I need to visit Bryan today and make sure he writes and submits both of my letters. These are both due before 5pm today central time. I am REALLY glad I have Robert's letter. Not only is he the Director of the Logan Library BUT he is ALSO president of the Cache Valley Library Association. The state librarian would NOT have visited our tiny organization if he hadn't asked initially. I KNOW that.

Mosiah 18

21 And he commanded them that there should be no acontentionone with another, but that they should look forward with boneeye, having one faith and one baptism, having their hearts cknittogether in unity and in love one towards another.
35 And they were in number about afour hundred and fifty souls.

Abinadi just had the one covert that we know about. Alma the convert in turn has 450 people following him at this point. AMAZING and good to read now as I'm going with the sisters tonight to a discussion with some guy they say is in my ward or will be anyway.
I can't wait to see Sister Sonasi in action. I was NOT impressed by sister Skidmore and Sister Newcomer was getting trained. Sister Sonasi is Tongan AND the senior companion. She BETTER do a good job!!!

Time will only tell. I wish it was payday but that's not until Monday when I'm "treating" the sisters to lunch at Elements. I wanted to treat them but they eat there free so I just have to pay for my own meal.

I looove their homemade potato chips.

The Gospel to All the World - Elder John B Dixon

That was almost 35 years ago, and little did I know at the time that I would spend several years of my ministry in the Seventy in the Africa West Area of the Church, among a believing, faithful people whose lives would be so affected by the 1978 revelation on priesthood. Sister Dickson and I have lived there for four years, and the experience has been wonderful and life changing for us.
I just listened to this and he said 1970. I never forget the date because I lived in Payson, Utah then. I never forget that because I was baptized in Payson and it was 1978. The text has the correct year. I remember it because I remember my parents talking about how many people left the church when this revelation happened. We lived in a house with a small second floor. My brother and I enjoyed sliding down the stairs with a sleeping bag.
In general members love Polynesians and since they knew we were from Hawaii we were fellowshipped a whole lot. I remember a family in the ward taking my entire family snowmobiling. ALSO a family took us to temple square to watch a session of conference. My dad was very dark. He could pass for black. ALL of his brothers and sisters were very fair. His older brother had green eyes. My grandfather was pretty fair and short. My dad took after his mother who was tall and dark. He was only 5 '10 but I am taller then ALL of his brothers and sisters and I'm only 5 '4. His brothers and sisters used to call him Sione Nika meaning Sione Nigger because he was so dark. Most Tongans are racist against black people.
It is hilarious when an old-school Tongan man or woman are confused as being black because they get sooo angry. MANY people have thought I was black too. Usually people think I'm Mexican. My own Polynesian people never think I am until they learn my name but even then they will think I'm Hawaiian which I AM BUT NEVER Tongan which I ALSO AM!!! Actually I MOSTLY am Tongan. I'm a 1/4 white and then more Hawaiian than Chinese for the other 1/4.
There were many black members in the early church. Joseph Smith had several black member friends. It is not clear when their membership was first denied. President Groberg during a mission tour I was able to accompany him on was asked the same question. He said simply that the leadership of the church interpreted it to be such at the time. My personal opinion is that the times were such and we probably had a racist prophet and apostles then too. Fijians and Puerto Ricans along with all the other Latin and Pacific Island nations like Haiti and Papua New Guinea were never denied priesthood blessings although they are just as dark as blacks. Thinking of the prejudice early Polynesian pioneers experienced in Iosepa it is VERY easy for me to believe what I do.
