Food Poisoning

It's a mild case but I still feel queasy. Today is a poke sale and the last thing I want when I'm feeling like this is raw fish even if it's delicious raw fish I never get to eat. I bought dim sum from Ho ho's yesterday and I'm thinking the shrimp must've been bad. I remember once when this happened when I ate at some sushi place in Holladay. That was miserable. I haven't thrown up or had diarrhea but I feel queasy and I haven't wanted to eat anything. I need my mother to make me some ginger soup. This usually helps. Also I still have some Li hing mui from the Asian store. I'm pretty sure it has a bunch of ginger. I haven't eaten anything today but I haven't wanted to eat anything. I just slept the whole day away. I want to go to my costume party and Halloween dance so I slept after Zumba today. I think I'm going to call my mother and ask her to get me some ginger.

I REALLY don't want to have to run to the bathroom for diarrhea BUT I spent so much time AND money on my damn Halloween costume for tonight. I can't believe this BUUUT I think it's going to be a better plan for me to sit my butt at home along with my queasy tummy. They make giant sushi rolls at Sushi Burrito but I have no desire to try any right now. SERIOUSLY!!! This just SUCKS!!!

In the name of Jesus Christ I ordain you to be a priest (or if he be a teacher, I ordain you to be a teacher) to preach repentance and remission of sins through Jesus Christ, by the endurance of faith on his name to the end. Amen.

I Know These Things of Myself - Craig C. Christensen
In reality, a testimony is more like a tree that passes through various stages of growth and development. Some of the tallest trees on earth are found in Redwood National Park in the western United States. When you stand at the base of these massive trees, it is amazing to think that each one grew from a tiny seed. So it is with our testimonies. Although they may begin with a single spiritual experience, they grow and develop over time through constant nourishment and frequent spiritual encounters.
This is often how a testimony begins: with sacred, enlightening, assuring feelings that demonstrate to us that the word of God is true. However, as wonderful as these feelings are, they are only the beginning. Your work to grow your testimony is not done—any more than the work of growing a redwood tree is done when the first tiny sprout pokes out of the ground. If we ignore or neglect these early spiritual promptings, if we do not nurture them by continuing to study the scriptures and pray and by seeking more experiences with the Spirit, our feelings will fade and our testimonies will diminish.

Each of us has an important work to do. To accomplish that work, and to be protected from worldly influences that seem to be constantly looming, we must have the faith of Alma, Nephi, and young Joseph Smith to obtain and develop our own testimony.
