I slept through the entire Saturday afternoon session. I woke up a little after 6pm. I thought priesthood session would be on channel 5 but it wasn't. I didn't look for it, instead I watched other programs then fell asleep again waking up after 2am when I couldn't sleep but I couldn't find anything good to watch either so I didn't. George and his family were supposed to come over today but I don't think they will because I think George needs to fly to New Jersey today for work.

Revelation to a parent has a lasting effect on the child
I love how President Eyring keeps getting choked up as he recalls spiritual experiences. He tries to and does regain his composure.
Personal revelation does not come easy or simply for the asking
Let thy bowels also be full of charity .... then shall thy confidence wax strong, the Holy Ghost shall be your constant companion
Love for the prophet is a gift from God. Only the prophet can direct someone to give the sealing power.
God had revealed things to her beyond what any mortal education could provide her.
Revelation continues in the church.

How do we sustain a prophet?
in deed and in truth
Open-heart surgery on Pres. Kimball 77 years old in heart failure. He did not recommend this but he chose to do it because the 1st presidency recommended it. When his heart started strongly beating again, he knew he would become a prophet then.
Prophets testify of Jesus Christ.
Invoke law of common consent when we sustain prophet or anyone.
No prophet has ever been elected. We don't vote but we do sustain.
Oath-like recognition we support and recognize what they advise is binding on us.
We will stand behind him, pray for him and carry out his instructions.
We sustain 15 men as prophets, seers and revelators. Decisions must be unanimous.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Seniority presides, continuity, seasoned maturity
Counterbalances and safe-guards abound.
The p & p which the Lord has put in his church when the presidency may be ill or need assistance the rest of the men will provide this, when the president is ill or not able to function fully his counselors carry on with the work
50 years of apostolic service - age takes its toil on all of us - yet I have been chosen and consecrated by his father Mosiah 2:11. The church is in good hands come what may. No need to fear. The Savior is ever at the helm.

Do you remember the first time you knew there was a God? He pondered and felt God's presence as a child. To some it is given to know by the Holy Ghost that Jesus is the Christ.
Always invoked the Father as he testified of anything even of and especially of himself. One with the Father as we should be one with the Savior and the Father even God. The Power of the Holy Ghost. Remember, remember that it is on the rock of our Redeemer that we must build. We have a prophet to guide us in this dispensation.

Last supper, sacrament, end of animal sacrifice, solemn acceptance of Jesus Christ as the Savior and Redeemer. Sacrament also taught to the Nephites. One of the most Holy and sacred ordinances is the sacrament. The order of bread and water is significant.With whom we will live not IF we will live. Upon receipt of the Holy Ghost we are cleansed. Through the sacrament we declare anew our commitment to exercise our faith in Jesus Christ and to keep his commandments and more closely align our lives with his.
The most important event in time or eternity is the Atonement, regular participation in the sacrament helps us faithfully endure to the end and make use of the Atonement. Regular participation prepares us to see the face of God.

Scriptures, counsel of prophets, example of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Walking where he walked is less important than walking as he walked.
Each of us may walk the path of disappointment
His path will take us safely home.

I like how President Monson's daughter meets him and walks with him at the side of the stand. President Uctdorf's wife came and met him too to walk out with him. Actually I think all of the apostles have their wives meeting and then walking out with them. Now the seventy leaves without their wives, If I recall correctly from when I ushered they can empty the building in 17 minutes even with all the chitchat going on and people are already lining up for the second session. Following this we would hang out there. Meals were served during conference at the Church office building cafeteria which would have a few flatscreens playing conference. I was a conference center tour guide on Thursday evenings but they always needed help to usher during conference and at any events there.

It was fun but I'm alright to let other people have that experience now. My recommend just expired this month. I hope Bishop Johnson hurries and emails that form so I can renew my recommend. I need to email him and remind him to get on it. I miss working at the temple and I want to find out how I can do that again here at the Salt Lake temple.
