So first I met with Bro. Bevan or Bevans. He was very nice. Bro. Johns the first counselor took me to what was supposed to be my Relief Society but ended up being the wrong one. Sooo, I have yet to attend the correct Relief Society. I went to Sunday School and I saw this Tongan girl from my Tongan family ward a looong time ago as in when I first moved to Utah in 2007. I don't think I was even in the Pioneer boundaries but I didn't have a car and the ward met on the next block. There was another Tongan girl then again from that ward but I don't remember her name... OK now I remember Elaine. Angie and Elaine. Oh boy I hope I'm right. They told me Moe is also in the ward. She drives me crazy. DEFINITELY staying away from that chicka.

The LDS world is so small. Elaine and Angie didn't attend the Singles Tongan wards. I wonder what convinced them to finally attend some sort of singles ward. It was nice to see them there and I sat with them during sacrament meeting. Elaine has to pick up her parents from church so they leave early. Angie said she'd be at our RS activity Tuesday. I like our choir and I enjoy the songs we're singing now. We're singing for sacrament meeting next week. It is such a beautiful song. Our choir director is sooo into music and sooo good. I'm learning a lot from her already.

I have to wait for next week to have my temple recommend interview. Bishop said it takes a week to get my records moved. They just read in Julie's records but I think that's because we had General Conference last week. I think things are sort of back to normal now. I've been here a little over a month but this was only the 3rd time I went to church with the Ogden temple dedication thrown in. Plus that regional conference I missed the first official Sunday I tried to attend church.

I saw Julie and I wanted to give her back the $10 I owe her but I never had the chance to chat with her so I guess I have to just carry around cash until I get a chance to pay her back. It was fast and testimony day because of General Conference last week. I'm still waiting for my records to be there before I can even speak at all.

Ether 6
And thus the Lord caused stones to shine in darkness, to give light unto men, women, and children, that they might not cross the great waters in darkness.

This is very similar to our time here. The stones could be compared to prophets who give us light so we don't have to go through our journey here in darkness. The Lord is what makes the stones shine in darkness. So much symbolism and comparisons can be made with this story.

And it came to pass that they were many times buried in the depths of the sea, because of the mountain waves which broke upon them, and also the great and terrible tempests which were caused by the fierceness of the wind.
And it came to pass that when they were buried in the deep there was no water that could hurt them, their vessels being tightlike unto a dish, and also they were tight like unto the ark of Noah; therefore when they were encompassed about by many waters they did cry unto the Lord, and he did bring them forth again upon the top of the waters.
The comparison of the plan of salvation to the Jaredites and their voyage is a good one even in these verses. They are constantly fighting tempests and being buried although because they are "tight like unto a dish" nothing touches them despite what they encounter.
Finding Lasting Peace and Building Eternal Families - L. Tom Perry

“For behold, again I say unto you that if ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do” (2 Nephi 32:5).
We must never let the noise of the world overpower and overwhelm that still, small voice.
“Women who make a house a home make a far greater contribution to society than those who command large armies or stand at the head of impressive corporations. Who can put a price tag on the influence a mother has on her children, a grandmother on her posterity, or aunts and sisters on their extended family?
May I suggest that the mothers of today have no greater opportunity and no more serious challenge than to do all they can to strengthen the [home]”
Please remember, brethren, your sacred calling as a father in Israel—your most important calling in time and eternity—a calling from which you are never released.
It is my firm conviction that there has never been a period in my many years of life when our Father in Heaven’s children have needed the guiding hand of faithful, devoted parents more.
