I am glad I moved, HOWEVER watching the beautiful Polynesian Cultural Center float I am sad that I didn't go to Salt Lake City or march with the alumni in the parade ESPECIALLY since I'm going to miss the 50th anniversary party. It's not like I could've afforded that trip right now anyway. September I will FINALLY be looking good financially. A trip to Hawaii is just NOT something I can do right now.

Funny, AC is the REASON why I decided to move but after the first night of being here I turned it off to see if my ceiling fan in the living room and my fan in my bedroom would be enough AND it IS!!! My first electric bill is 35.00 and 33.00 of that is for changing my address. My washer and dryer work so quickly here that they don't use much electricity.

I wonder what the difference will be in the Winter. Last night I bought waffles and chicken potato chips, orange juice for Mark's dinner, some cream cheese, cool whip

I am missing marching band right now too. Kahuku High School should come to this parade. I guess the Rose Bowl and Citris Bowl parades are more exciting. I miss rifles. I haven't twirled one in a long time. I only did that 1 year before I dedicated my life to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Get paid for working part time doing something I love vs. rifles in the marching band and being forced to attend ALL the football games - that was a VERY easy choice.

Last night we had a friendshipping RS activity planned and executed by Lauresa. It was fun. Instead of speed dating this was speed friendshipping. I met a less active sister we always talk about Jessica Monk. She is Japanese and moved to Utah when she was a baby, moved to Logan. I just finished telling someone for my last meal I'd eat sushi then Jessica tells me she was a sushi chef for over 10 years.

She came with Julie. I told her she needs to come to more activities. I could've checked to see if she knew where I could buy some furikake and shitake mushrooms in Cache Valley so I can make my sushi "casserole" roasted recipe I am dying to try out.

The reporter told a dancer from the Polynesian Cultural Center that their entry was traditionally a crowd favorite. RIGHT!!! This is only the second year the alumni has marched. These commercials about PCC are making me homesick. I've been very lucky. Not only did I get a dancer job when I was in JR high school when I had to get a special permit to work, I did that for 3 1/2 years. Dancer jobs were the most coveted by BYU-Hawaii students. My dad was a friend to the Tongan instructor who asked my father if I wanted to dance. I LOVED IT!!! I would've danced for free BUT why do that when I could get paid???!!! While my paycheck sucked, students got about $20 since their money was deducted for their tuition, room and board.

Instead I paid for gas and then shopped with the rest. There was a time when I'd go shopping EVERY Saturday.

The Liahona Alumni Band ends the parade. This is the real traditional crowd favorite. They have done this for over 30 years. PCC's entry just started BUT they have the money to squirt water into the audience, have a cool float AND fly some of their dancers to march with the alumni for the parade. So I ate my enchiladas and potato chips. I found an oatmeal cookie recipe. I think if those come out well I'll take them tonight to Sam's BBQ. I want to see the fireworks but I don't really want to stay there that long.

He's providing the meat which is fantastic. Everyone else is asked to bring some dish to share. I am addicted to HGTV. My VTs were able to hang my mirror for me so it doesn't get on my nerves every time I happen to look at it. I need to buy a chair for right under my mirror. I miss my big makeup room at my fairway house. Now I have all my jewelry make-up and accessories and nowhere really to put them.

Mosiah 9

aIbZeniff, having been taught in all the language of the Nephites, and having had a knowledge of the land of cNephi, or of the land of our fathers’ first inheritance, and having been sent as a spy among the Lamanites that I might spy out their forces, that our army might come upon them and destroy them—but when I saw that which was good among them I was desirous that they should not be destroyed.
I like that Zeniff was a spy among the Lamanites and that this softened his heart and made it so he didn't want to destroy them because he saw their good traits.

Being Accepted of the Lord - Erich W. Kopischke
Even when I “messed up,” I always felt his love and confidence in me. He passed away more than 10 years ago, but I can still hear his voice, sense his love, enjoy his encouragement, and feel his acceptance.
As we look into our hearts, we screen ourselves. What no one around us knows, we surely know. We know our motives and desires. When we engage in sincere, honest reflection, we do not rationalize or deceive ourselves.

If I open this door to Him, I am more responsive to the invitations of the Spirit, and I am more accepting of God’s will.
As we sincerely and prayerfully ponder the extent to which our hearts are honest and broken, we will be taught by the Holy Ghost. We will receive a sweet confirmation or gentle correction, inviting us to act.

Having the Holy Ghost as our constant companion is the ultimate indicator of being accepted of God.
We observe our covenants by sacrifice by simply striving for righteousness, being open, and listening to the promptings of the Spirit as we live our daily lives.

As we are personally in tune with the Spirit of the Lord and feel His acceptance, we will be blessed above our understanding and bring forth many fruits of righteousness. We will be among those to whom He has said, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”10
It's almost 1pm. I loved the parade I miss that about Salt Lake City. I feel so out in the middle of nowhere still. I need to do dishes, laundry, work on my guest room and get everything organized.

I still haven't used my steamer. I need to do that now. I want to steam my shower curtains. They have some wrinkles I don't like. I considered taking them down and ironing but I knew I was going to buy my steamer soon too. I also need to take my modem to UPS. I need to submit that and hope my refund comes quickly.
