My Random Blogging Therapy
I took a coffee table, canning jars, decorative plate, a picture and a welcome sign to DI. Following this I went to pay my insurance/get proof of insurance that I can take to Providence Court House. She said she'd write me a letter AND give me stuff to put in my car until November. I ate a Big Mac Meal. I know that's a waste of money AND bad calories but I didn't have time this morning to pack a lunch. AT LEAST it's Big Mac Mondays meaning the meal cost me 3.76 for FHE. The perks of living in Utah. FHE tonight is playing frisbee at the church. I can't use any time I have playing right now. Instead I'll be unpacking.
I called my leasing office to tell them to fix my stove light/fan AND to tell Katie my leasing agent I didn't appreciate the surprise handicapped master bathroom. It still looks good AND I like the shower BUT mopping up water EVERY morning? Water and hair in the bathroom is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. Of course my hair sheds like nothing and I am constantly having to throw hair away from all over the place.
The internet people called back and said the lower jack thing is the internet and to just plug in an ethernet cable. I'll have to get my own router for wireless. I don't know why I just thought there was universal wireless there. I doubt it would be difficult to set up. If college campuses can do it I don't see why they can't of course then they'd be providing free internet service to the neighbors.
Before buying a cable I asked Chris if they had any. He gave me one and told me they make them and he and Dale wired ALL the classrooms themselves. SCORE!!! It never hurts to ask. There are 3 smaller boxes with my papers/books left in my guest bedroom but I emptied ALL the other boxes. I need to throw them away!!! That'll be the first thing I do. I hung all my coats/jackets from one of my laundry bags I used to pack and carry these in the guest bedroom. I just need to empty the other one. One day I want a REALLY nice Korean drama style closet. Until then I'll just have to be creative. My Fairway house had a coat closet I put all that stuff in. There's a light switch for the plugs in my living room and master bedroom. I need to remember that.
This morning I called Logan City to give them my Box number. It is truly ridiculous that the mailboxes aren't just the same as the house number. Whose genius created that mess? My last 2 apartments did that. HELLO!!!
I like that I can call the leasing office to fix something. It's the one thing that scares me about home ownership. I can't just call someone and expect them to fix it. Even condos have HOA fees. That is probably my best solution. My stove is electric. I don't like that. My mother has a black gas stove. It is perfect. My mother's location is perfect too. I just want to do a major remodel. I'm not sure how that would work on a prefabricated house. The spot is perfect. It is on the edge of a bad neighborhood BUT right downtown. With the new Trax station less than a block away it makes it even better. She installed a new AC system mostly for me. It runs cold just how I like. I always wanted a condo downtown. I enjoyed living at the Belvedere. One thing nice about my mother's house is it is close BUT still far enough away to not have the security issues other places have.
The new Trax runs right to the airport. VERY nice if I have to travel anywhere. I won't have to worry about parking at the airport, just a nice short Trax ride!!! I'm already having fun decorating my new place. My guest bathroom looks amazing already, I just need some pictures. When I'm done unpacking I'm getting rid of some pictures. Bathrooms need pictures of flowers-generic hotel-lobby-like stuff.
Everything else in my house is personalized in some way. It either has religious, Poly or fun undertones. I also have Renoir all over the place just because he is AWESOME and my FAVORITE. I just remembered I need to print some John Pitre pictures and then just get Watkins to print them larger like I did my Christmas pictures. I want the pink picture of the Tongan temple and I don't care if I have the same one hanging up in my mother's house in Salt Lake City. I'm going to like ALL my pictures now.
