Urban Poly Princess

My brother said he and Alisa are going to Boise for her Zumba training this weekend. I told him to come by since they are driving there. I have the ULA multi-cultural committee potluck this Saturday in Murray and while I would REALLY like to attend, I think the intellectual freedom committee is going to take up enough time as it is.

I also need to hurry up and submit my application to ALA's emerging leaders program that'll require me to attend the ALA conference in Las Vegas next July and their Mid-Winter meeting in Philadelphia in January. I will have the money to do that then and it is also possible to secure sponsors through APALA and ULA to cover half the costs. I joined APALA specifically for that opportunity. Although my director said she doesn't see the company as being able to pay/sponsor it in any way, I think as it approaches I'll be able to convince them to pay AT LEAST something. In any case APALA or the Asian Pacific American Library Association pays for a member to attend each year. ULA should be able to help fund it too AND there's the state library as well to hit up. I just checked and applications are due Friday. So much for NOT waiting until the last minute to get this done.
