Mainly because I don't work the next day OR the entire weekend. My shower this morning STILL made me mop the floor up but that's alright. I'll just have to wash towels more frequently. My new liner is installed. I have pictures up in my living room/dining room kitchen as well as the main hall before my bedroom. I grabbed an avocado on the run this morning along with half my box of strawberries and the left-over cool whip/cream cheese sugar mixture I used on the guava cake I finished 2 days ago.

I stayed up doing laundry and watching Duck Dynasty. I've heard so much about it and I wanted to know what all the fuss was about. It is hilarious!!! They are a loving family and I really like that. They reminded me a lot of my Polynesian relatives. I remember my dad telling me meat from the grocery store NEVER tastes as good as meat they kill and cook themselves. When he was a little boy he said his grandfather in Mu'a would ask him to choose a chicken he wanted. He grew up as did all the children there knowing how to kill/clean/cook a chicken.

The men went to gather frogs to cook at night. After golfing at his brother's country club the younger brother notices how many frogs are in the golf course ponds. He drags his uncle, dad and friend with him to gather the frogs. The patriarch skins the frogs with his grandson who hands these to his grandfather. He gives him counsel to find a nice country girl who can cook and not a "yuppie girl" who can't.

The brothers play golf instead of attending career day at one of the brother's child's school. He sends his father and uncle instead. The uncle is a Vietnam veteran who shares ALL the gory details of people dying, blood and limbs being ripped apart... the teacher there stops him before he continues. In another classroom daddy dearest butchers a duck to "teach" the kids how they can live off the land.

Mormon 3

 And I did cry unto this people, but it was ain vain; and they didbnot realize that it was the Lord that had spared them, and granted unto them a chance for repentance. And behold they did harden their hearts against the Lord their God.
11 And it came to pass that I, Mormon, did utterly arefuse from this time forth to be a commander and a leader of this people, because of their wickedness and abomination.
12 Behold, I had led them, notwithstanding their wickedness I had led them many times to battle, and had loved them, according to the alove of God which was in me, with all my heart; and my soul had been poured out in prayer unto my God all the day long for them; nevertheless, it was bwithout faith, because of the chardnessof their hearts.
20 And these things doth the Spirit manifest unto me; therefore I write unto you all. And for this cause I write unto you, that ye may know that ye must all stand before the ajudgment-seat of Christ, yea, every soul who belongs to the whole human bfamily of Adam; and ye must stand to be judged of your works, whether they be good or evil;
21 And also that ye may abelieve the gospel of Jesus Christ, which ye shall bhave among you; and also that the cJews, the covenant people of the Lord, shall have other dwitness besides him whom they saw and heard, that Jesus, whom they slew, was the every Christ and the very God.
I can't think of anyone more alone than Mormon. How would it be to be the ONLY righteous individual on earth. I hope he had a family we just don't hear about, but I don't think so. He was so great and faithful despite ALL the people he interacted with. He's not alone now. He is an excellent example to me of how we shouldn't ever compromise our standards despite what and how people surrounding us choose to behave.
Catch the Wave - Russell M. Nelson
On that council is the ward mission leader.4 I would like to speak specifically to each of you ward mission leaders. You have been called by your bishop to lead missionary work in the ward. And some of you are so successful that an assistant has also been called to help you. Along with others on the ward council, you identify less-active members, part-member families, and interested neighbors. You meet regularly with assigned full-time missionaries. You advise and assist the missionaries. Please help them to fill their daily planners with focused and meaningful teaching opportunities. This is your responsibility. Your role is crucial, truly crucial to the success of this work. If you catch the wave with faith and enthusiasm, others will also. You, as the ward mission leader, are theconnecting link between members and missionaries in this sacred work of rescuing God’s children.5
May we catch this wave and fulfill the Lord’s command to take the gospel “to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,”34 I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Our ward mission leader is Trevor Spence. I went out of my way to meet him. With the number of RMs in our ward it should NOT be a problem to provide our missionaries with 3 discussions a week. It's not an accident that we just had a special world-wide missionary training event for ALL members although technically it was produced for ward councils. He's dating someone in the ward now which is GOOD because I definitely DON'T want him thinking even for a second I'm interested in him.
I ALWAYS deal with that problem. I spend more than 5 minutes with some guy and he wants to get to know me better. I REALLY hope Mark didn't do that because I like him a lot... AS A FRIEND!!! AND he is a good friend to have. He helped me move which I appreciate. He just didn't chat with me as easily Sunday and I'm getting a strange vibe there. BUT he is genuinely a good person and strives to keep the commandments as much as he can. I hope we can remain friends without any weirdness.
