PERFECT timing!!! My mini-display port to HDMI cable is here!!! That is just a day after receiving my HDMI cable!!! My RS president also just cancelled our presidency meeting. I should be able to watch my new flatscreen tonight!!! That is exactly a week since I bought my television so the timing is wonderful and YES I did survive and just thought of my TV as a pretty thing taking up space in my living room.
My mother is so freaked by snow. She told me I could take her tv to her in the Spring and that would be fine. My old tv is at her house. NOT a flatscreen, she has another tv in the living-room too. I have her bedroon television she would use to watch DVDs. My HDMI cable cost me under $6 INCLUDING shipping and my mini-display port was about $12 with shipping. Walmart wanted to sell me a cable for $20 and then if I bought the mini-display port it would've cost me 34.99 from the MAC store here. The cheapest HDMI cable sold by Best Buy is $20. REFRAINING and waiting saved me about $36.
I'm going to do some food shopping during my lunch hour. I need fruit and veggies. I think I'll hit up Maceys. A grocery lunch hour for me today. It could be worse. I saw a very cute desk and chair online at Cache Valley Classifieds. I would enjoy redoing furniture myself. I'd like to learn more and then do it for fun AND sell stuff too. My friend Sisi has a consignment store in Sugarhouse. I hear she has some cute stuff. She was my roommate in Sugarhouse with my cousins Shannon and Lea. That was a gorgeous house. I enjoyed living there BUT I also moved into a beautiful place downtown. The Belvedere apartments are lovely. I DID NOT like NOT having a washer and dryer however. I had to walk down the hall to do laundry AND there was NOOO AC. Although it was furnished beautifully. What I did love was being right across from ZCMI mall AND right next to the underground tunnel that came out in ZCMI. Now it opens up somewhere in City Creek mall. If I was still living with my mother I'd be VERY familar with City Creek Mall. Now I'm not and I've been there maybe 3x. I know they have City Creek condos too. Harmons is right across the street. This is what I wanted for my mother so she could work as long as she wanted at the Family History Library and then just go home when she got tired which would mean walking just a couple of blocks.
She is still close AND doesn't have HOA fees. A Trax station is being built a block from her house. I don't want her to ever sell her house ALTHOUGH it should be leveled so something else can be built there. It is a prefabricated house she paid for in cash which is good that she just worries about utilities. George calls it her mobile home and wants her to move asap. It is a 3-bedroom. I want to knock down the wall to the third bedroom by the living room that would expand the living room and make the kitchen overlook the living room. The closet in the 3rd room could be entered from the master bathroom. That would be perfect. I lived there with her over a year and I never felt unsafe. HOA fees are annoying BUT it isn't the best neighborhood.
I wouldn't mind a condo downtown again if I worked at the city library. I think I like the county better. Actually I could live anywhere. I just miss being able to walk a few blocks to see musicals, OR drive a short distance to do a sesh at the SLC temple or eat at a good restaurant. I like city living. If I bought one at Eagle Gate I'd be in the prophet's ward. I would love one at Gateway too. Everything is so convenient especially with Harmon's downtown. I had to do my grocery shopping at Smith's Marketplace. If I was a librarian or in management at the City Library it would be nice and convenient. It's also convenient when my husband becomes an apostle or if I ever serve in the general relief society presidency, young women's or primary. Now I'm getting carried away.
I'm going to throw out what I cooked last night. It was NOT that good this morning.
