It was so nice to get a phone call from my cousin Saia last night. He just moved with his wife and 2 kids to Utah from Australia. He lived with us when he attended BYU-Hawaii. He was a bishop in Australia. He lived with us right before my mission and his which was a month later. He was so funny. He couldn't sleep on his bed in his room because it was too soft and he wasn't used to sleeping on a bed so he slept on the floor. He used to fast once a week, "for personal spiritual growth," hahaha!!!

It was fun  to have another brother to hang out with plus George was older and dating the world worried because he hadn't been married yet and his mission president told him he'd be married in a year when he finished. He sure dated enough girls as he tried to find his wife. I love my sister-in-law NOW but I DID NOT like her at first because she was a convert to the church and only got baptized to attend BYU-Hawaii with her friends. She wasn't an RM and at first George was all about marrying an RM. I met her briefly and she is who my brother was dating before my mission.

I remembered meeting her but I didn't really pay too much attention because George changed who he was dating so much. Plus, many of my extended family had gone out of their way to try to stop him from dating her. My aunt even made a special trip JUST to take my brother to dinner and tell him she didn't want him to date Alisa any more. My dad even offered to pay for her mission if she wanted to go. FINALLY when she told him she had another mission he told her he didn't want my brother to marry her because she is Samoan. It was his last resort that made her cry and to his dismay, their relationship grow stronger. I reported to the MTC October 2nd, when I called home for Christmas that year I spoke to George who had his wedding date set then although they never got married until August the next year.

I was so ticked off I couldn't be at my only brother's wedding BUUUT I got over it because I had no choice. The week I got home my niece Noelani was born. She was and is so awesome. My dad visited her EVERY day after she was born. My brother told me he didn't know what if anything he could do about that. It was so cute. As he got more grandkids he loved life more and more. He always said he could die now that he had them. He'd tell me not to worry about getting married because there was no one worthy enough for me. Hahaha!!! ONLY my dad!!! I miss him sooo much. And NOOO I don't think there's no one worthy of me on the earth.

Saia is 2 years younger than me. He spoke at my mission farewell along with my parents and brother.

Dad's business was doing very well then and I'm sure he thought we were the biggest spoiled brats. When Saia first moved to Hawaii from Tonga he was obsessed with cheeseburgers. He would go to McDonalds and order 10. It's amazing he didn't get sick. I was obsessed with make-up, shopping, getting my hair and nails done and going on my mission. I attended  mission prep for over a year. All of my friends were older than me and got to leave while I still waited to turn 21.

OF COURSE I'd get an MTC companion who never wanted to go on a mission but got a patriarchal blessing that specifically told her she needed to go. She had enough faith to go but NOT enough to shut the hell up about not wanting to be there. She had just gone out with some guy she was crazy about and he didn't write her until right before we were leaving the MTC. I wanted to kill her. Nice introduction for me. I had to get a blessing from my MTC branch president because I REALLY wanted her to quit whining and I REALLY wanted to slam her. I tried sooo hard not to snap at her and except for breaking down with the branch president, I did alright. I did like that she was just as vain as me and didn't mind getting up super early so we could get all the showers to ourselves AND so I could wash my hair and apply all the mousse and hairspray and make-up I thought I needed.

A lot of Elders were constantly trying to talk to my companion because she was pretty. She wasn't interested in any of them although sooo many had their pathetic attempts. I figured they were stupid for doing that and deserved any of the false hopes they had that she'd actually be interested in any of them.I attracted every idiot Elder who was going to some Spanish-speaking mission. BLACK HAIR DOES NOT MEAN I SPEAK SPANISH!!! Stupid Elders would ALWAYS try to practice with me hoping I was a native speaker.

Memories!!! I'm so excited to see Saia. I told him to come to Ochi's baptism. I wish I knew when it was. I need to find a substitute to work for me at the temple. I was trying to warn Saia about our uncle Laie when he told me he is in prison now and is likely to get deported to Tonga soon. He had an affair with his niece as in his brother's daughter and has a son from his first cousin's wife in Tonga. Apparently the latest incident isn't the first time he's done this. He was never inappropriate with me, I just didn't feel comfortable having him over ALL the time. I told Saia it's a good thing I read my Book of Mormon every day because he never tried anything with me. WOW!!! So much for me trying not to offend him. I knew immediately my uncles would never like that. I knew my uncle would blow up and make nothing into something big. Now I'm REALLY certain of that. I'm glad I stopped it without incident. It was an uncomfortable conversation but one I felt good that I had when it was done.

I hope Sheila and the kids are doing alright.

I don't like that Saia didn't work in Australia. His wife worked to support their family. I don't know if he just felt uncomfortable or what. He is not lazy at all. Actually he is one of the hardest workers I know. I wonder if he was just uncomfortable there. Now that he's here with his brothers and lots of family I hope he figures it out. He never went back to school. He only attended a semester at BYU before he left on his mission. He served in the Riverside, California mission but had to finish in New Zealand because of immigration stuff. I hope he is legal and can work here now. That will just be a mess if he's not. His kids are so cute and his son is very talented. He sings and dances well. His daughter is cute but I don't think she performs like her brother. He told me last night he enjoys working with his hands, on computers or construction. He wants to do something that will allow him to spend plenty of time with his family. I looove that!!! I'm very happy with the spiritual state of my cousin. He said he wanted to talk to me and George about what he should do to make money financially. I told him he needs to do what he loves.

I'm not worried about him because I know he loves the Lord and puts him first in his life. He may not have a college degree but he can get one AND make money doing something he loves. His family is awesome and I can't wait to meet them. I met his wife who attended our cousin Paul's wedding but I never got to meet his children.

He told me Saia JR is 13 and Sala should be 11.They had another daughter they lost when she was a baby.

The last verse of another very short chapter. I can't wait for conference. Time for some new talks.
