2 Nephi 9
17 O the greatness and the a of our God! For he executeth all his words, and they have gone forth out of his mouth, and his law must be b.
18 But, behold, the
a, the
b of the Holy One of Israel, they who have believed in the Holy One of Israel, they who have endured the
c of the world, and despised the shame of it, they shall
d the
e of God, which was prepared for them
f the foundation of the world, and their
g shall be full
h.
19 O the greatness of the mercy of our God, the Holy One of Israel! For he
a his saints from that
b monster the devil, and death, and
c, and that lake of fire and brimstone, which is endless torment.
20 O how great the
a of our God! For he
b cthings, and there is not anything save he knows it.
God is good. God is great. One day I will be worthy of the many wonderful blessings he sees fit to bless me with. One day is not now.
The Lord's Way - Elder Stanley G. Ellis
we are not spiritual orphans! We are not alone.
In fact, God has the way to live, 1 to love, 2 to help, 3 to pray, 4 to talk, 5 to interact with each other, 6 to lead, 7 to marry, 8 to raise children, 9 to learn,10 to know the truth, 11 to share the gospel, 12 to choose wisely what we eat, 13 etc. 5.
Even with the universally accepted desire to help the poor and needy, the Lord concurs in our goal but warns, “But it must needs be done in mine own way” (
D&C 104:16). Otherwise, in our efforts to help, we may actually hurt them. The Lord has taught us the need to promote self-reliance.
Even if we are able to help, we should not give or provide what they can and should do for themselves. Everywhere it is tried, the world learns the evils of the dole. Truly God knows best.
I can figure this out. I can make this work. I don't know how but I will do my best.
