Urban Poly Princess

So I get to record my testimony about Relief Society for a video John is shooting for our celebration. It means I'll miss part of either Gospel Doctrine or Relief Society. It sounds like a fun opportunity. Now to figure out what to wear. Something solid. Now I'm thinking like in in journalism classes again at the U. Since I'm finished the MBA I need to get my Zumba certification asap. I just haven't had the money to eat the way I'd like to BUT I know I'm also making myself excuses. I didn't go to the temple yesterday OR do Zumba OR weight training. I am letting my own opportunities for growth pass me by when I should be taking everything I'm being offered. I used to be a mentor to this Tongan boy in Salt Lake City. His brother was raised by his aunt or my friend Kina's sister Pou. Sione was just shot this morning at a Maverick in Salt Lake City. He's only 19. When something like that happens my trials and difficulties seem so insignificant. Why does someone have to die for me to grasp that?

This is so sad. He was supposed to have been shot by another Polynesian man. With the Poly wireless the way it is I'm sure the boy who shot him will be known almost immediately if it isn't known yet. So Ila's little brother was killed this morning not too far from where my mom lives. This is incredibly sad.

I should welcome this opportunity and use it as a time to recommit to those things that I know only bring happiness. I can still do Zumba every morning AND weight training AND go skating. I've slacked so much in eating better just because of these other things stressing me out like being accused of plagiarism. If I let anything knock me off my game I won't accomplish anything. It's fast Sunday tomorrow.

FEC Forward Error Correcting or Channel Coding is the part of information theory my friend's thesis directly considers. He tries to reduce the noise and thus the errors in data transmission by adjusting variance to account for error bursts. These responsive changes makes the transmission more accurate. The point of all this is a better transmitted product whether visual or audio or it could just be data. For me the practical use is easier to understand if I think of a sharper audio or visual signal over a cell phone or tablet.

Since cable is becoming obsolete this is extremely relevant now. The cloud is also extremely important to this. It is our new paradigm so improving data transmission is extremely important. I'm glad I bothered to figure this out. I need the big picture. I want to know the significance, the why the hell I or anyone else should give a damn.

I still don't know what he means by soft information. Thank you Google!!! I guess I'll never know soft information seems to be a widely used economic term. I don't really need to know. I have the gist of what I wanted to know figured out.
