Watching PCC's festivities online was tough. I wanted to see it but it made me so homesick and wish I was there. They had a formal ball on Thursday which I didn't bother to stay up and watch but I did stay up until 4am for their 2 shows Friday. I kept thinking I didn't need to go BUT watching was difficult. I just wanted to be there. Saturday I woke up at 11 when I got a text about a mirror I wanted that I saw on Cache Valley Classifieds. It was just $35 and it is beautiful. I took my ancient desktop that I NEVER use off my black desk I originally got from DI. It goes perfectly. It makes the perfect vanity. I have a chair from DI that is black with maroon cushioning. I want to replace the fabric with fleur di liese black and white. That room is shaping up to exactly how I want it to be.
After getting my mirror I came home to make sandwiches for Justin's baptism. I just bought some fudge-stripped cookies because I forgot to buy coconut and I had been back and forth from the store I definitely wasn't going to do that again. I decided to just serve water with a lot of ice and cut up lemons. The relief society sisters bought some chocolate chip cookies and some cut veggies and dip. They also had a bowl of grapes.
Justin's baptism was perfect. I gave a talk on faith, Porter gave a talk on baptism, Lauresa's song was gorgeous, Justin's baptism was beautiful. At that point when he was changing I put out all the refreshments. When I was done laying everything out I went back to the room where the baptism was being held. Justin came in less than 5 minutes after I sat down. He said a few words followed by bishop Johnson after which refreshments were served. Attendance was phenomenal. Maybe 30 people attended. I loved that.
Today I was late to church and missed Justin's confirmation. Sis. Sonasi got conference tickets for me, Justin and Sister Shreve for Sunday Morning. I'd rather have Saturday tickets so we can eat out although I like the Sunday morning session best. Sis. Sonasi is going with a different group to conference.
My new hometeacher Rich served in Taiwan so Krista really enjoyed talking to him. He is sweet. He is fine, originally from Hawaii, AND an attorney something I REALLY like ALTHOUGH the 4 kids are NOT something I like. He has 17 acres in Mendon and kills and butchers his own meat including ducks, cows and chickens. He kept telling me how beautiful Mendon was and showed me pictures on his phone. Somehow he agreed to feed me, Krista and the sister missionaries at 6am a Taiwanese breakfast at his house Tuesday morning.
He came over to our home teaching appointment earlier and loaded my dishwasher as I was cutting celery. That was very nice of him. He is internet dating now and asked me to give him feedback on his profile. He said he went on one date and she looked nothing like her picture. He also told me he sent 12 emails and only received 1 response. He asked me to look at his profile so I could let him know if he looked like a creeper.
Even if I could get past that he has children, he wants to live in Mendon on his 17 acres. That just sounds like a nightmare to me. I never read my scriptures today or yesterday. It's actually kind of a blurr. I'm grateful I could be a part of his baptism. I hope he's alright. Rich my new home teacher said he looked overwhelmed.
