Wordy woman

I can't criticize anyone for being too chatty again. I just don't stop. I've been on a roll today.

Lynn and Richard Keister are my new supervisors for my group 7 temple shift. President Barrington said they are brand new supervisors although they've been part of group 7 for some time now. She teaches music at USU and her husband is a retired photographer who helps his wife out sometimes with her classes. I used to keep a journal but writing is so tedious.

Lynn Keister called me tonight. The call dropped of course so I drove to the Marriott across the street to call her back. I told her how excited I was to do this. Everyone learns all jobs at the temple and every hour your duty changes. I have the veil down cold. Initiatories will take me longer. I've always wanted to know those amazing words more. Women even help at the baptistry. I don't like Logan's baptistry. It feels like an economy version. The Hawaii baptistry is beautiful. Logan is not. I know the same amazing work is done there. It just is a very stark, cold feeling.

I called my mother and left a message to let her know too. I am grateful for my amazing family who have all set incredible examples for me throughout my life. They NEVER pressured me to ever do this. It is something my brother just wanted to do when he moved to Provo. It's something I want to do now.

For some of my Jr high life and for ALL of my high school life my dad worked EVERY Saturday in the temple until he died in 2002. He had so many stories that were awesome related to the temple. He was a contractor. He had a bad experience with a sub-contractor who tried to cheat him. He didn't react violently or send any of my nephews to do that. He met that man in the temple that week and was extremely grateful he reacted well. I love that my dad worked there. It tempered him. I remember my dad being gone most of the day and then napping in the middle of the day on Saturdays. We lived 5 minutes from the temple but some people on his shift traveled an hour just to be there. I want to continue this tradition with my own family.

Saturdays were when my friends at BYU-Hawaii did sessions. It was always cool to see my dad whenever we went there. My mother was an unpaid receptionist there even longer than my father. After being an FHE leader, blood drive specialist and now assistant RS secretary, this is the BEST church position I've had in Logan.

I CAN'T WAIT!!! I don't know how comfortable my shoes will be ALL DAY. I need to test it out. I have 2 temple skirts and tops and 2 dresses. I also have 2 pairs of shoes but neither I think will be alright ALL DAY. I have several white sweaters too. I might buy a comfortable pair of white shoes and then change into them if I need to do that.
