Urban Poly Princess

I got up at 3:30 am to do Zumba and then I jumped in my shower, got ready and went to the temple. I met my trainer Jeannette Smoot. Her roommate is Diantha from my ward. She is an excellent trainer. My first post was in the celestial room. That is an amazing place to start. I got to open the door for all people when they left a room. Initiatories were sooo awesome!!! I know those ordinances least BUT I love them and Jeanette said to plan on spending some time there each time I work in the temple. These are the ONLY ordinances I can think of women performing. That is AWESOME!!! All the workers are so sweet. I am going to enjoy being with such positive people each week.

My feet were killing me. It involves A LOT more than I supposed. I thought this would just involve helping patrons directly. While is includes this most of the work done includes directing and standing and smiling, holding doors, opening doors. Melony was an ordinance worker. She was at posts that involved this. There are 2 spiral staircases the public doesn't have access to use. There is a window that overlooks Logan that is incredible. This is a perk only someone working at the temple receives.

Once I have all my duties mastered I'm going to find ways to spend time there by myself. It is the perfect place to pray, plan and ponder. One perk that I didn't expect is the motivation to get fit. I want as much energy as possible but the only way that will happen is if I get back into shape, workout and eat better. I am committed to serve well in the temple.

I am wondering what REALLY happened. Jeannette started about a year ago after her stake president told her they desperately needed help when the Brigham temple opened. Why I was prevented from doing this in the first place I don't know. I don't  like it either BUT I know my Father in Heaven would have opened the way if he felt I needed it at the time. It annoys me that I missed out on blessings I could've enjoyed for over a year now. I am just as worthy now as I was then. I hope I progressed spiritually simply because time passed BUT I should've had the chance to work when I applied.

I didn't see my friend there but that doesn't mean anything. Although we have prayer meeting there are sooo many workers AND there are people who attend another one and report even earlier. Your location changes every hour and it is very busy on Saturdays. Just learning what I do at each post throughout is going to take a lot BUT I am extremely happy about that chance.
