Friday

The Real Estate Broker lady is meeting with me Monday at 2pm. I want to work in her office now so that when I get my license I can hit the ground running. I really hope this works. I've never asked someone out of the blue to be my mentor. I want to make myself AND her a lot of money EVEN with the limited time I have to work for her. If I was her I would looove to have someone with 2 master degrees willing to help me with anything FOR FREE. Looking fantastic is an important component of sales and I intend to do that. I want to bring my entire winter wardrobe here and not let it remain in my closet in my room at my mother's house because it doesn't fit anymore. I'm going to do a little shopping to see if I can fit a sales friendly outfit I feel fantastic in to meet her.

I have more than enough clothes to do this. It is a purely psychological thing. Yesterday I got my plate from Mo Bettah Steaks and Kaho and Doug's sweet friend Brianna who is Samoan/Tongan gave me a super-duper plate. I have half of it in the fridge because I couldn't finish it. I'm going to add the rest of my rice to it and warm it up after adding an egg to it and then warm and eat the teriyaki chicken I still have in there.

Today I need to shop for food too and for Justin's baptism. I'm getting a case of cans of chicken on sale at Fresh Market place. I also need to get some cashews, celery and grapes for the sandwich mix. I'm going to get 8 bags of the same chip. These go on sale all the time. I'm going to buy more stuff for my cookies and check to see if I can get it right today or I'll just end up buying fudge-stripped cookies. Those are always good. I'll also buy a bunch of my carbonated water because whatever anyone doesn't drink I'll take with me. I hope both relief societies supplement with treats because the sisters asked them to BUT I'm going to make sure there's plenty whether they do or not.

I actually wish they'd bring fruit. my cousin Mary used to make this scrumptious fruit plate. She'd cut bananas and dip them first in strawberry yogurt and then in coconut as part of her fruit plate. They were scrumptious. My friend doesn't like bananas. I looove banana cream pie. Next to key lime pie it is my absolute favorite. I also love chocolate-chip banana bread and frozen bananas dipped in chocolate. Now I think I'll make myself a fruit plate.

When I'm at home I like reading my scriptures and conference talk on my phone because I do it right when I get up. I read Ether 12 today, a perfect talk on faith. I'm trying to think of a story to relate it to. I'm trying to capture how we have to go the extra mile, how we have to really exert ourself before the blessings come. That is how faith is and I wish I didn't get frustrated at this process. It is the only way we experience any gains or change. It is like working out. Unless we push pass what we do each day our bodies will remain stagnant. Nowhere is this shown or made so evident than in our attempts to improve our fitness. Lifting weights transforms you but only if you continue to exert yourself. When a workout is easy you are just maintaining, not changing. AND I think I have my analogy today.

Ether 12

For he did acry from the bmorning, even until the going down of the sun, exhorting the people to believe in God unto repentance lest they should be cdestroyed, saying unto them that dby efaith all things are fulfilled—
Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with asurety bhopefor a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which chope cometh of dfaith, maketh an eanchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in fgood works, being led to gglorify God.
And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that afaith is things which arebhoped for and cnot seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no dwitness until after the etrial of your faith.
Wherefore, ye may also have hope, and be partakers of the gift, if ye will but have faith.
10 Behold it was by faith that they of old were acalled after the holy order of God.
12 For if there be no afaith among the children of men God can do no bmiracle among them; wherefore, he showed not himself until after their faith.
20 And behold, we have seen in this record that one of these was the brother of Jared; for so great was his faith in God, that when God put forth his afinger he could not hide it from the sight of the brother of Jared, because of his word which he had spoken unto him, which word he had obtained by faith.

These Things I Know - Boyd K. PackerThat peace is also promised in the revelations in which the Lord declares, “If ye are prepared ye shall not fear.”

I have come to know that faith is a real power, not just an expression of belief. There are few things more powerful than the faithful prayers of a righteous mother.

Teach yourself and teach your families about the gift of the Holy Ghostand the Atonement of Jesus Christ. You will do no greater eternal work than within the walls of your own home.
Tolerance is a virtue, but like all virtues, when exaggerated, it transforms itself into a vice. We need to be careful of the “tolerance trap” so that we are not swallowed up in it. The permissiveness afforded by the weakening of the laws of the land to tolerate legalized acts of immorality does not reduce the serious spiritual consequence that is the result of the violation of God’s law of chastity.
All are born with the Light of Christ, a guiding influence which permits each person to recognize right from wrong. What we do with that light and how we respond to those promptings to live righteously is part of the test of mortality.
“For behold, the Spirit of Christ is given to every man, that he may know good from evil; wherefore, I show unto you the way to judge; for every thing which inviteth to do good, and to persuade to believe in Christ, is sent forth by the power and gift of Christ; wherefore ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of God.”8
Each of us must stay in condition to respond to inspiration and the promptings of the Holy Ghost. The Lord has a way of pouring pure intelligence into our minds to prompt us, to guide us, to teach us, and to warn us. Each son or daughter of God can know the things they need to know instantly. Learn to receive and act on inspiration and revelation.
Of all that I have read and taught and learned, the one most precious and sacred truth that I have to offer is my special witness of Jesus Christ. He lives. I know He lives. I am His witness. And of Him I can testify. He is our Savior, our Redeemer. Of this I am certain. Of this I bear witness in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Time to begin my day!!!
