Urban Poly Princess

I stayed up until 3am watching the livestream of PCC's Jubilee Celebration talent show. I know my mom would've loved being there. There were so many talented singers and dancers who performed last night. It was impressive. I love that it is part of my legacy and that my mother was in the original show and that she was in the movie Paradise Hawaiian style with Elvis and my dad's sisters who were students at the then Church College of Hawaii.

Judge Bode Uale was a tram guide there in the '70s. His dad was my theater manager at night show. He surprised me. He sang AMAZING. One of my classmates who blew up like a balloon emceed last night. He did a great job. Funny he never did anything in High School. Sia Tonga emceed with him. She blew up too. I knew her in Tonga although she was a little younger than me. Her parents are awesome. Her dad taught at Liahona with my mom and later was a member of Tongan Parliament. Her mother had an awesome Polynesian show in Tonga. They are a Tongan power couple. Their kids are all great looking and talented. They are fluent in Tongan and English.

Jenn Baker left me a voicemail to call her back, yeah NOT happening. Jared did that a couple times right around the time that student told me he was smitten with me when I called him to help me with a flat tire. Following that I didn't call him back AND I ignored him in person. My other FHE brother acted the same way when he helped me jump my car. JUST BECAUSE I ASK YOU FOR HELP WITH MY CAR DOES NOOOT MEAN I WANT TO GO OUT WITH YOU!!! I'm sooo happy he is engaged right now. He was getting irritating.

Chris Egbert AND my friend DID NOT react that way. I asked them because I needed help then!!! I don't even know Chris that well and he helped me save $300 AND allowed me to drive again. I gave him some candy because his sons said he liked Cadbury caramel eggs. Since Easter was over I had to buy him some Lindt caramel truffles. My friend helped me AFTER I had a conversation with him saying I didn't need to know how to change a flat tire because I was Polynesian and would always have some nephew, cousin or my brother to do it for me. That was humiliating asking him to help me with that but I wasn't comfortable asking anyone else. I am grateful he helped me without reminding me of what I said before. He could've given me a lot of grief about that and he didn't.

I felt great about our friendship then, of course that is before he started tripping.

Elenoa called me at work since I texted her when Justin's baptism is SINCE she CAME OVER to my HOUSE AND called me on my cell phone to check. I told her I can't receive or make calls from my cell phone when I'm home. NO ONE on the Sprint network can and although I'm with Virgin Mobile it uses the Sprint network. I don't think she believes me and I don't care. She called me back at work yesterday at 3:30pm. It is unusual for me NOT to be there then but the missionaries texted me Tuesday night to see if I could pick them up at 3:30 and give them a ride to an appointment. I took an extremely late lunch to accommodate them.

Whenever I stay up too late I get to work early. I overcompensate because I'm too freaked out about sleeping in. I figured it was alright since a 50-year celebration is rare. Some of the talent show was annoying. The haunted Lagoon dancers just left me confused at what they were trying to present. Singers had to be flawless because the sound system was such that ANY flaw was magnified. It was an easy way to tell who could really sing and who needed a little work.

The administration did a fantastic routine created by David Tiave who I danced with back in the day. He is over the promo team now. Watching last night I kept thinking of just how blessed I was to have had my PCC experience.
