Sunday

Rich spoke today in church. The more I get to know him the more I'm glad I received that major no-sleep revelation. He did an excellent job. Carpe Diem is one of his favorite sayings. It's one of mine too ever since Dead Poets Society. He also quoted C. S. Lewis. He is hilarious. We have A LOT in common. He is confident AND he was sooo funny. He said how he tries to date once or twice a week and tries to pump himself up. His talk was on fear and how fear and faith cannot exist at the same time. There's also that scripture about how perfect love casteth off all fear. He said it doesn't matter if some girl rejects him for a date because he's amazing. Hahaha!!! That sounds so much like something I'd say.  He is amazing and his talk was excellent. He is hilarious and intelligent AND fine but not for me. I have to keep thinking-4 kids, ex-wife, Mendon, 4 kids, ex-wife, Mendon, 4 kids, ex-wife, Mendon!!!

Justin came to church with his mother who has been visiting over a week. He still wants to go to conference. He got a haircut and is looking beautiful. He looked veeery good today. He is such a sweetie.

There's a fireside tonight. I invited Justin but he needs to spend time with his mother before she leaves to California again

1 Nephi 11
36 And it came to pass that I saw and bear record, that the great and spacious building was the apride of the world; and it bfell, and the fall thereof was exceedingly great. And the angel of the Lord spake unto me again, saying: Thus shall be the destruction of all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people, that shall fight against the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Lord I Believe - Jeffrey R. Holland

The second observation is a variation of the first. When problems come and questions arise, do not start your quest for faith by saying how much you do not have, leading as it were with your “unbelief.” That is like trying to stuff a turkey through the beak! Let me be clear on this point: I am not asking you to pretend to faith you do not have. I am asking you to be true to the faith you do have. Sometimes we act as if an honest declaration of doubt is a higher manifestation of moral courage than is an honest declaration of faith. It is not! So let us all remember the clear message of this scriptural account: Be as candid about your questions as you need to be; life is full of them on one subject or another. But if you and your family want to be healed, don’t let those questions stand in the way of faith working its miracle.
I didn't read this today BUT it was our RS lesson. I had to read this paragraph and explain it to the other sisters. I like this. I had an epiphany then . I am really negative when I am feeling like Laman and Lemuel and I focus on what I don't like and instead of considering the entire situation I exaggerate the negative.
