My Random Blogging Therapy
I dragged myself out of bed and after missing it Friday and Saturday it felt great to do Zumba... that is UNTIL I noticed the time. 7:55 meaning 5 minutes to get ready and get to work. I skipped my shower AND getting any food. I'll be drinking water until my lunchtime at 2pm. SUCKY!!! I'm not hungry BUT that's NOT good for my fitness goals. Eating frequently revs your metabolism and stops you from bingeing.
I need to do some weight training at lunch AND buy some avocados, oranges, Greek yogurt. I have chicken, shrimp, sandwich ham, tuna and eggs. Lots of protein. I just need to cook it AND buy some fruit and veggies. I need spinach. I have frozen broccoli in the freezer. I can't wait to go skating tonight. I should buy more longer socks for my skates. I only have 2 pairs of long socks. These are just a dollar at Walmart.
Mosiah 18-20
The fruits of Abinadi's labor are shown through the conversion of Noah's priest Alma who leaves and baptizes people and meets with people in secret since Noah seeks to take his life. The number listed in the Book of Mormon is 450. Very nice. I'm sure Abinadi was extremely happy to find out how well his message was received eventually.
Limhi is now King, a righteous son of King Noah at the end of chapter 20. Limhi's people are having to provide the Lamanites with a pretty hefty tax on all their goods.
Trial of Your Faith-Apostle Neil L. Anderson
How do you remain “steadfast and immovable” during a trial of faith? You immerse yourself in the very things that helped build your core of faith: you exercise faith in Christ, you pray, you ponder the scriptures, you repent, you keep the commandments, and you serve others.
When faced with a trial of faith—whatever you do, you don’t step away from the Church! Distancing yourself from the kingdom of God during a trial of faith is like leaving the safety of a secure storm cellar just as the tornado comes into view.
President Ezra Taft Benson said, “Every [person] eventually is backed up to the wall of faith, and there … must make his stand.” Don’t be surprised when it happens to you!
By definition, trials will be trying. There may be anguish, confusion, sleepless nights, and pillows wet with tears. But our trials need not be spiritually fatal. They need not take us from our covenants or from the household of God.
“Remember, … it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.”
Like the intense fire that transforms iron into steel, as we remain faithful during the fiery trial of our faith, we are spiritually refined and strengthened.
AMAZING talk!!! I haven't been paying attention. I didn't realize until I was writing the heading of this talk that he is an apostle.
Jodie asked me to teach RS this Sunday since she needs a sub-Of course I agreed. The title is: Becoming Perfect Before the Lord: A Little Better Day by Day. I'm excited to teach and the lesson and it has direct application to my skating. It talks about daily working to reach perfection. What I have learned through skating is that I do improve DAILY or EACH time I do it. I am so grateful to review this lesson. When I was in physical therapy and occupational therapy I was amazed by how much I could progress in such a little time. The little that I have rehearsed in choir has made me improve by seemingly leaps and bounds.
I already knew if I skated EVERY day I would improve and that's what I've tried to do. I've felt good about taking these steps because of everything else I had to learn. I want everything back that I had before my accident. Everything else I encounter in daily life. This is something I have to go out of my way to develop. I want to do the same thing with music and with the piano. I just need to make time to go to the library to check out a book. I want to work with library books first before buying a book and buying a keyboard.
I brought my juicer back from Salt Lake City and I'm excited to do this again especially with my new fitness thing. I lost a pound. Yea!!! It's better than gaining. Hopefully since I'm adding weight training the scale will show something else. I feel better about how I eat AND workout and I know a better body only follows that!!!
