Zumba habit!!!

I think I've FINALLY conquored the mattress!!! Reading my scriptures on my phone as soon as I wake up followed by a prayer to help me start my day right has helped tremendously. Before I'd read my scriptures and pray AFTER my shower while I ate breakfast but then sometimes this would get pushed up to throughout the day at work when I'd rush. I haven't rushed with this and it's been 3 consistent weeks now!!! To be effective I need to make sure each workout pushes me to my limit. HIIT or high intensity interval training is what my goal is. I am glad Zumba has this built in to each rountine.

I've seen the incredible results of Zumba with my sister-in-law. She looks incredible AND that was in less than a year. No one would ever believe she has 9 kids.

I have a lot of bills to pay. That is going to eat up my weight-training time today. I could've done it yesterday but I had to pick up my thesis, mail it to Stevens-Henager College then I had my meeting right in the middle of that. I bought 2 taco salads for my laaate lunch yesterday since I had a 2 for $6 coupon for Carl's Jr. I just had the 2nd one for breakfast here at work. That's 1 serving of vegetables ALTHOUGH the crappy iceberg lettuce really shouldn't be counted as a veggie. It's more like a nothing-food NOOO nutrition whatsoever. I brought an avocado AND orange to eat with my shakes at 10 and 1pm. I didn't pack anything for my 1pm meal so it's just going to be a shake and yogurt or avacado and orange. I guess it doesn't really matter.

I got some greek yogurt from Macey's last night following my RS meeting that finished around 11:45pm. It's Western Family brand so it was very inexpensive as in .69 AND each yogurt contains 16 grams of protein. Incredible find!!! I also bought some pork rinds. Those are gross when I think about what I'm actually consuming BUT they WILL NOT put on weight. I haven't watched Deception in a long time so I was catching up with some episodes last night as I munched pork rinds and pretended they were chips of some sort. I couldn't resist buying a big bag of m & m's I'm going to save for Sunday. I froze the rest of my chocolate cake Monday. Sunday I'll be traveling from SLC in the morning. I need to buy a waffle iron. Sundays are good days for fruit-whipped cream topped ALSO with butter and syrup Belgium waffles. Belgium waffles AND chocolate are divine. There's this waffle place I want to try in Sugarhouse too. I read a review in the Salt Lake Tribune.

Mosiah 15

Abinadi glories in the Savior and waxes poetic. He isn't quoting Isaiah or he wouldn't give him credit for the sheep dumb comment.

This sounds like Isaiah and it is beautiful but I don't quite get the imagery.

15 And O how beautiful upon the mountains were their feet!

16 And again, how beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those that are still publishing peace!

17 And again, how beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those who shall hereafter publish peace, yea, from this time henceforth and forever!

18 And behold, I say unto you, this is not all. For O how beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that is the founder of peace, yea, even the Lord, who has redeemed his people; yea, him who has granted salvation unto his people;

The Joy of the Priesthood-President Uctdorf

Yes, there is always something imperfect in any situation. Yes, it is easy to find things to complain about.

But brethren, we are bearers of the Holy Priesthood, after the Order of the Son of God! Each of us had hands laid upon our head, and we received the priesthood of God. We have been given authority and responsibility to act in His name as His servants on earth. Whether in a large ward or a small branch, we are called upon to serve, to bless, and to act in all things for the good of everyone and everything entrusted to our care. Could there be anything more exhilarating?

Let us understand, appreciate, and feel the joy of service in the priesthood.

My love for flying influenced the direction of my entire life. But as invigorating and blissful as my experiences as a pilot were, my experiences as a member of this Church have been much deeper, more joyful, and far more profound. As I have immersed myself in Church service, I have felt God’s almighty power as well as His tender mercies.

As a pilot, I have touched the skies. As a Church member, I have felt heaven’s embrace.

Christ is the source of all true priesthood authority and power on earth. It is His work, in which we are privileged to assist. “And no one can assist in this work except he shall be humble and full of love, having faith, hope, and charity, being temperate in all things, whatsoever shall be entrusted to his care.”

Let us embrace and understand the wonder and privilege of the priesthood. Let us accept and love the responsibilities we are asked to fulfill—responsibilities in our homes and in our Church units, no matter how large or small they may be. Let us constantly increase in righteousness, dedication, and priesthood service. Let us find the joy of serving in the priesthood!

Next, let us be wise and act upon this gained knowledge constantly and honorably. As we obey God’s laws, discipline our minds and bodies, and attune our actions to the patterns of righteousness taught by the prophets, we will experience the joy of priesthood service.

And finally, let us deepen our faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ. Let us take upon ourselves His name and commit each single day to walk anew in the path of discipleship. Let our works make our faith perfect. Through discipleship we may be perfected one step at a time by serving our family, our fellowmen, and God.

When we serve in the priesthood with all our heart, might, mind, and strength, we have a promise of sublime knowledge, peace, and spiritual gifts. As we honor the holy priesthood, God will honor us, and we will “stand blameless before [Him] at the last day.”

President Uctdorf has become one of my favorite speakers-Neal A. Maxwell, Jeffrey R. Holland AND Pres. Uctdorf are my personal favorites. I miss hearing from Elder Maxwell but I am grateful to have many of his books and records of his talks. I was living in Salt Lake when his funeral was held at the tabernacle and I was able to attend. It was difficult for me to choose just one section of this. I loved this talk. I also love Alma 13. I've studied the priesthood and priesthood keys for a long time now since my patriarchal blessing specifically mentions these. I have a pretty good understanding of the priesthood even if I can't hold it now but it always amazing to hear more about this.
