Church

Church was fine AND Curtis the FIIINE boy who disappeared was there today. Of course that meant I was going to the bishop's fireside because I knew he'd be working the kitchen as part of the linger longer committee and I made sure I introduced myself. He is just as fine in person. I first saw him as me, Susie, Theresa and Holly were walking to the chapel. He walked by and I couldn't help it, I had to tell Susie he was FIIINE... she said she was just about to say the same thing. I kept thinking, he's going the wrong way but then he came back and I saw him sitting in the back when I went to pick up a program.

He cleaned the kitchen very well and I told him he could come to my house anytime to do that. He said he'd come for dinner BUUUT we were just playing. He was wearing this neon orange shirt that he looked amazing in. YES you need to be confident to wear that especially if you're a guy. He had what looked like a beeper on his belt and I asked him if it was a beeper. He told me he's diabetic which is why he has some sort of electronic device. That is probably why he's rail thin.  He didn't seem short at all. He does look like a model and he has a beautiful tan.

It was nice to get to know the ONLY attractive guy in the entire ward. He is sooo damn fiiine!!! I neeever thought I'd think that about ANY guy from my ward.

Our fireside was one of those question/answer format things that annoy me greatly about my bishop. He is setting himself up as an authority on EVERYTHING when he doesn't have the authority to interpret doctrine the way he tries to do. Someone needs to have a little chat with him. HE IS NOT THE AUTHORITY ON DOCTRINAL QUESTIONS. He is our dear bishop with the keys to guide us BUT NOT the way he tries in these firesides. He didn't say anything wrong or offensive, it is the tone of the whole thing. It is fun and interesting to study the gospel and to formulate suppositions...  HOWEVER, that is NOT my bishop's role. The first presidency and the talks given in general conference do that for the most part. BUT EVEN with that we still need to be extremely careful.

It is annoying when GAs do this, I never thought I'd encounter a bishop who'd try to pull this. I've been around religion professors my entire life. They know and live the proper roles in their spiritual life. I love that he thinks about these questions. I haaate that he doesn't get that it isn't what he should be spending ANY time on with his flock or us. He should be counseling and loving us with specific help each of us needs. His discussions with us should not include doctrine subject to opinion that hasn't been explained fully in any other forum. Whenever he makes a statement he also needs to back it up with sources and the scriptures and it can't just be his opinion. This is so important. I don't know why he does that. If it was anyone else I wouldn't have such an issue with it. Members are crazy wherever you go. Theories abound. The bishop shouldn't be defining this the way he has been doing.
