My Random Blogging Therapy
I woke up with 30 minutes to get ready and get to work.
I think I called everyone in our FHE group this morning. I left my list at home so I just went through the directory a few times to find names I recognized. I am sooo glad I have my lunch hour to buy some last minute things and get this completely thrown together.
The last time I was at Maceys I remember seeing artisan bread there. I'm sure crusty bread from Maceys is A LOT cheaper than Crumb Brothers. I also remember my cousin buying pound cake at a bread thrift store to use in her trifle. I'm going to see if they have pound cake here before I do Sam's Club. Of course Sam's Club doesn't cost that much anyway but if I can get it super cheap why not? I read online to freeze pound cake pieces so they don't crumble and can be dunked easily into fondue. I can buy an apple corer from Walmart but I remember seeing one at Ross a couple weeks ago too.
Shopping List
apples, strawberries, carrots, lemon
pound cake, artisan bread, tortilla chips
sugar, 16 oz heavy whipping cream
dollar store serving trays, cups, plates, napkins, forks
ice
I need to blanche my broccoli, whip up my caramel sauce-this recipe doesn't use caramels. It has good reviews, I hope it's good. I'll find out at lunchtime anyway.
So at lunchtime I'll pack stuff I need in my car, blanche brocolli, make caramel sauce.
I will do my chopping, cutting and coring at work then stick stuff in the fridge. I plan to have everything at work so I can just leave to Mindie's house. Actually I decided to stick stuff in my cooler that rolls easily.
I'd like to start setting up stuff at least by 5:30. I wonder if David's going to be there to help set up stuff. He can help me unload stuff OR maybe I should call Rudy to see if he can help me set up at 5:30. I just want to have to set up the crock pots and water fountain when I get to Mindie's house. I don't want to have to worry about chopping, coring or cutting anything. I plan to cut the stems off the strawberries at work, cut my lemon so it's ready to throw in with the ice and water.
I will cut my bread and pound cake into cubes too.
