My Random Blogging Therapy
I am still in the midst of this Death to Diabetes book. If my blood sugar doesn't come down I won't lose weight. That is probably what I need, not just carb cycling although I probably need that too. Stupid catch 22. I need to lose weight to get this in control BUT unless I monitor and lower my blood sugar that isn't happening. I'm going to eat the rest of the rice/spinach/egg thing I made last night BUT I'm not buying or eating any more rice or bread until I can get this in control.
What a disappointment. I wonder if the breading from the chicken nuggets affected that too. From what I'm reading it's only taken people a month of following his protocol to see results. 197 from eating rice and those chicken nuggets. That number is WITH Metformin. This program wants you to check your blood sugar more often so you get to know EXACTLY how your own body responds to certain foods. Until this happens I am waging a losing battle with my weight. I don't eat that much. Now I know why the scale isn't moving more. I've completely changed how I eat and I've only lost 4 lbs. I know it's been under a month BUUUT that is a huge problem.
I can't wait to master this. I am grateful all this information is out there even if the doctor and dietician don't really seem to help people change. In my opinion they help to control it in its problem state. I am glad I'm done with real estate classes now and that I can focus on improving that.
I threw away the rice concoction and instead ate a spinach, celery, carrot plus spinach dip dressing. I tried to eat a yogurt but I felt so full I couldn't finish the whole thing. I tested my blood sugar again and it was 164 a couple hours after eating that. Nice AND below 170 again. That was extremely quick. It is definitely time for me to incorporate nutrition changes. He has detailed advice on supplements, vitamins and minerals. I am only incorporating his nutrition advice first. Eating should NEVER be this complicated. It's time again for me to hit up the store. It's a great thing I like veggies.
