Death to Diabetes

I'm reading this awesome book and I can't wait to incorporate what I'm learning. Metformin develops a dependency and it will not give me an accurate reading of my blood sugar if I rely on it. I decided to stop taking it but then I remembered to actually ask my heavenly father and he said no. The book recommends your doctor approve any decisions anyway. I want to finish it by my appointment Monday. I need to go pay a bill. After this then I'll come home and read. The book is pretty extreme with nutrition and I like all his recommendations. The dietician I saw and will see again told me I could eat white or brown rice, pasta and bread. While that is true strictly for counting carbs it doesn't help with anything else. There is a Facebook group based on the book and the comments are amazing as are the Amazon.com reviews. It was written by an engineer who ended up in a diabetic comma. He reversed it completely and now heads an organization helping others to do the same. From reading everything I have most people who are diagnosed also have high blood pressure and cholesterol problems. I don't which is rare but a great thing for me. The other thing he advocates is avoiding fat and dairy products. I don't agree with that. Following an Atkins diet proved to me that's not true. ALSO he recommends eating yogurt HELLO, dairy! BUT I like everything else and I want to get his juicing and regular cookbook. I'm glad I told my mother I wanted her juicer when she was about to pawn it. I have my ice-cream maker AND my juicer and I plan to make use of these. Brown rice sushi is tasty as is whole-wheat noodles for stir-fry I'm not giving up.

2 Nephi 19
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and thegovernment shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

I can't help but hear the song in my head when I read this verse. I love it.

21 Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh; they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

I love how no matter what happens and no matter what bad choices we make his hand is stretched out still.

Teaching with the Power and Authority of God - David M. McConkie
God speaks.
Our first and foremost responsibility is to live so that we can have the Holy Ghost as our guide and companion.
Speaking to teachers today, the First Presidency stated: “The most important part of your service will be your own daily spiritual preparation, including prayer, scripture study, and obedience to the commandments. We encourage you to dedicate yourself to living the gospel with greater purpose than ever before.”3

After you have prepared yourself and your lesson to the very best of your ability, you must be willing to let go. When the quiet promptings of the Holy Ghost come, you must have the courage to set aside your outlines and your notes and go where those promptings take you. When you do this, the lesson you deliver is no longer your lesson, but it becomes the Savior’s lesson.
