Tongan day

My Tongan friend Ma'ata had her farewell today. She's serving in the New York Utica mission. She gave a very nice testimony. Her family had a party for her following this at an elementary school near the high school in Hyrum. She had good Tongan food. The raw fish was excellent as was the lu pulu. There were also fresh mussels, sapasui and teriyaki beef. I couldn't have any of the rice but I did have a piece of sweet potato. Yummy food and I didn't have to look at any roasted pigs. There were lots of desserts I got to ignore and I wanted otai but I restrained myself and there was still a lot of good food left to eat.

I went to church following that to pay my tithing and attend choir rehearsal. Apparently the first presidency is reviewing ALL singles wards now so the split is on hold.

Jacob 2

11 Wherefore, I must tell you the truth according to the plainness of the word of God. For behold, as I inquired of the Lord, thus came the word unto me, saying: Jacob, get thou up into the temple on the morrow, and declare the word which I shall give thee unto this people.
28 For I, the Lord God, delight in the chastity of women. And whoredoms are an abomination before me; thus saith the Lord of Hosts.
32 And I will not suffer, saith the Lord of Hosts, that the cries of the fair daughters of this people, which I have led out of the land of Jerusalem, shall come up unto me against the men of my people, saith the Lord of Hosts.
Power in the Priesthood - Neil L. Anderson
The temple brings added light and strength, along with the promise of eternal life.4
Do we not feel this power of the priesthood in our own lives and see it among the covenant-keeping members of the Church? We see it in new converts as they step from the waters of baptism feeling forgiven and clean. We see our children and youth more sensitive to the promptings and guidance of the Holy Ghost. We see the ordinances of the temple becoming a beacon of strength and light for righteous men and women across the world.

We know that gender is an essential characteristic of both our mortal and eternal identity and purpose. Sacred responsibilities are given to each gender.8
It was nice to have Tongan food again AND the Tongan lady I sat with wants to sell her 5-bedroom 3-bathroom house in exchange for a Single-level 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house. Another Tongan lady here has a catering business she is interested in either buying or leasing commercial land suitable for a restaurant/store. She wants it at 1000 North and her own home is at 1000 North and I think 9th East or the same road as the hospital. The Polynesian community here is pretty close-knit. I can corner the Poly business here. EXCITING!!! I need to provide them with superior service. I need my cards. Can't wait!!!

Tomorrow is a holiday for the students but not for us. It means I don't need to be there super-early.
