3 a speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, b upon the c of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will d you all things what ye should do.
4 Wherefore, now after I have spoken these words, if ye cannot understand them it will be because ye a not, neither do ye knock; wherefore, ye are not brought into the light, but must perish in the dark.
5 For behold, again I say unto you that if ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will
a unto you all things what ye should do.
6 Behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and there will be no more doctrine given until after he shall
a himself unto you in the flesh. And when he shall manifest himself unto you in the flesh, the things which he shall say unto you shall ye observe to do.
9 But behold, I say unto you that ye must a always, and not faint; that ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord save in the first place ye shall b unto the Father in the c of Christ, that he will d thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the e of thy soul.
I like this. We need to be guided through our scriptures and the words of our Savior. I love President Groberg's talk about what is your mission because it counsels us not to just sit there and do nothing. We need to make the decisions and work towards our goals. We figure out our own salvation. YES we look for guidance constantly but if we don't have direction we still act AFTER we figure it out. Even if we don't figure it out immediately we still move. Heavenly Father will always let us know if we are headed in the wrong direction. He will give us additional instruction if need be but WE make the choices and WE decide. These scriptures are certainly not suggesting we sit around until we receive specific counsel. We move forward, we progress. The words of Christ will tell us all things what we should do. We STILL need to figure it out THROUGH reading our scriptures. That is one of the ways we receive direction. We ALWAYS pray too, constantly, always HOWEVER we DO NOT become paralyzed because we are waiting for an answer. There is much work to be done in the kingdom and we can't afford to waste any time.
