Priesthood Session

Dallin Oaks
Keys and authority of the priesthood. Priesthood power blesses all of us. Consummate power on the earth. Power by which we will be resurrected and receive eternal life. Priesthood keys - all acts are done under authorization. To exercise priesthood authority. Keys enlarge and limit. Available for all of God's children.
All keys held by the Savior Jesus Christ.
Keys of this dispensation were conferred on Joseph Smith. Some priesthood keys were never given to man like resurrection and creation.
Priesthood authority
1. Power of God
2. Governed by priesthood holders who hold priesthood keys
3. All done under the direction of the keys is done with priesthood authority
While the sisters have not been given the priesthood that does not mean she hasn't been given authority
In the temple and this is just as binding as those performed by men with the priesthood.
Our work is done by divine authority under the direction of those who hold priesthood keys Relief Society and as a missionary I am given priesthood authority and exercise such. Whoever exercises priesthood authority should forget about rights and focus on responsibilities
Qualifying for exaltation is a matter of fulfilling responsibilities, not obtaining rights
Men are not the priesthood, men hold the priesthood. The greatest degree or power of the priesthood cannot be exercised without wives - possessing the compliment of the priesthood power. Creating life is then thus the highest expression or exercise of the priesthood. The Family, the father presides but each help each other as equal partners. Marriage is a FULL partnership. Be a contributing and full partner. Equal with different responsibilities
Blessings of the priesthood are available to both men and women
Women are equal to but different from. They are both endowed with priesthood power in the Holy Temples.

Donald L. Hallstrom - Seventy
Little value unless you are willing to receive and follow the messages in general conference
Who we are is NOT who we may become
Priesthood men who have made covenants, different - humble, teachable, meek -sacred act of covenant thoughtfully made. If we seldom even think of the priesthood we need to change.
Priesthood authority is a call to serve especially our wives and family, not just when it is convenient
Selfishness is the antithesis of the priesthood
Wake up to how commonly accepted practices in the world affect us, do not be deceived, beware concerning yourselves
Even as I am
Requires and expects change
Weak things can become strong
Relying on the atonement we can change, of this I am certain

Randall L. Ridd - Seventy
More choices, opportunities to do good AND evil, he trusts this generation to
He is anxious to put into our hands
The internet brings an abundant buffet of choices, the very best and worst the world has to offer
Can waste time on triviality, what does your heart desire???!!!
Desires of heart
In a real though figurative sense every thought, word and deed has an effect on the human body
Leave tracks, cookie, cyber profie, book of life. More and more of what you seek. The opposite is also true
What we insistently desire over time is what we will become
If you are not proactive in educating your desires, you will l
Refine, purify, elevate agency is our power to become each click, every choice will lead somewhere. Do not let anyone control your choice
Educate your desires and guide you choice
Know who you really are
Owning a smartphone does not make you smart
Be where you are when you are there
Multitasking simply shifts attention
If you chase 2 rabbits you won't catch either one
Use technology to accelerate your progress to perfection, take his word to the next level
internet and social media allows a worldwide influence, he trusts this generation with this incredible power

Rip Van Winkle slept through the American Revolution... Don't sleep through the Revolution
Are you sleeping through the restoration???!!! An ongoing process includes all God has revealed, now reveals and will yet reveal culminates in the coming of the Savior Jesus Christ
observer or worker
1. Selfishness - seek their own interest and pleasure above all else, what's in it for me? contrary to the spirit of God, egotism, narcissism, selfie as word of the year seeking gain and praise of the world can make us miss, remedy, deny himself and follow Him, unselfish give of themselves, time, gesture of caring, kindness, unlimited opportunities to serve our fellowmen including our spouse and family
2. Addiction - Begin subtlety, thick bonds of habit can become consuming addictions, Unspeakable potential, not meant to be shackled to the earth, addictions are so much easier to prevent than to cure.
Listen to loving warning of family, friends, our beloved prophet and the Savior. You can break free of addiction. Keep trying, don't give up, don't lose faith, keep heart close to the Lord, He will make you free, keep far away from what can cause addiction
3. Many competing options, May be good and honorable but are what we need to give our best effort to suffering? Even church service can be done without the heart and service of discipleship.
If we live up to these principles we will not sleep through the restoration
Blessed discipleship and ennobling service.
Effort once and for all
Sanctification and ALL that our father has, our privilege, sacred duty, be awake and not weary of well-doing, preparation for the return of our Savior
We need to NOT sleep through the restoration.
